The interception to Erik Coleman was especially bad.

Like Bobby Hoying in the 2000 AFC Championship Game, a quarterback led the Raiders in rushing today.

    Pathetic.

I think the kid has the lowest IQ of any QB on the field.

Its like a bumbling retard in the pocket.

Haha, what...? The Raiders beat the Jets this year the last time I looked. Raiderjoe earned his 15 minutes of fame every which way but loose on this one.

Almost as bad as Brad Johnson, but then again he's a 40 year old backup and Russell is the 1st overall pick.

Remember when the Raiders kept signing free agents who were the super bowl MVP of the previous year? I think Al Davis doesn't actually watch a lot of games when scouting players. Just the big games, like the super bowl and the college bowl games. When I watched Russell against ND in the bowl game I thought he looked like a monster, strongest arm I had ever seen and looked good in all the other areas as well. But then I thought to myself, you can't judge a guy on one game against a crap defense, I wonder how he looked in his other games. My point is that Davis sort of lives his life like a fan of the sport, only watching the big games, but when you work at this for a living your supposed to watch game film until you bleed out of your eyes.

Very true. That day he played against an abyzmul secondary that was torched all season long. It was Quinn and Jeff Z who kept them in games that year.

First of all I don't think you can consider him a bust yet since this is only his second year and his first year starting every game (I think he started a couple last year), but assuming he doesn't improve next year; do you guys think that JaMarcus Russell would be a bust if he would have went to a respectable franchise? He definitely has the physical characteristics to succeed and briefly watching a few Raiders games there have been times where he looked good. Who knows, maybe the Raiders franchise is so dysfunctional its hard for anyone to succeed there, except for just amazing players like Nnamdi Asomugha. Around this time next year we could be talking about how McFadden turned out to be a bust...

Hard to tell if he just isn?t/won?t be a good NFL-QB. He?s definitly talented and you see some flashes of greatness from him every now and then.

It?s hard in Oakland, but actually, I think he?ll make it and be a good one even in Oakland.

It's too early to call him a bust.

Russell and Gholston can party together. They fleeced their teams for about 80 million bucks. Oh, we did here Gholston's name for once yesterday. When he missed a tackle on a kickoff. Now 4 solo tackles and no sacks in 8 games. I'm sure we will here we need to give him a few more years to adjust though.

I think I could of played any position on offense for the raiders and do better than all of them for that game.....that was one of the most pitiful games that I have ever seen.

Russell has all the physical tools he just needs a functional organization and good coaching. Hopefully the Raiders don't completely spoil him for the next team that gets him.

He's David Carr Part two thanks to the Raiders. That team really is a joke.

I think if you gave Russell a good QB coach and a steady franchise where the offense & coaching staff didn't change for several years, he could turn out to be very good. He's got that cannon arm and field vision that's hard to match. If Russell had spent the last few seasons under Mike Holmgren, he'd be a stud now.

But on the Raiders I think he stands a pretty good chance of moving to Bust City. They are just a mess as a franchise. And I think the QB position is the most susceptible for disruption due to team chaos.

Yes, give him a chance on a real team. They really have nothing for him to work with.

Was Leinart worse in the Preseason game against the Raiders?

He led his team to victory against us a couple of weeks back, but those are putrid numbers.

What is the passing rating for Russell's performance? Was it worse than this?:

<Leinart had three interceptions in the first half and completed just 4 of 12 passes for 24 yards. His passer rating was 2.8, which wouldn't even be a good GPA.>

He had a passer rating of 19.0 in yesterday's game.

Rex Grossman had three games in 2006 that were worse than Russell's game yesterday.

Week 6: 14 of 37 for 144 yards, 0 TDs, 4 INTs, 10.2 passer rating (infamous Dennis Green tirade game)

    Week 13: 6 of 19 for 34 yards, 0 TDs, 3 INTs, 1.3 passer rating

    Week 17: 2 of 12 for 33 yards, 0 TDs, 3 INTs, 0.0 passer rating
