JaMarcus "Fats" Russell to the Jets?

    JaMarcus Russell - QB - Free Agent

    The Newark Star-Ledger reports the Jets have had "some very exploratory, informal discussions" regarding ex-Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell.
    Russell, of course, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 draft and has been out of the league since 2009. However, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported last week that Russell is planning to show his face at the NFL Scouting Combine next month in hopes of making a comeback. Russell is currently tipping the scales at 305 pounds, but hopes to get down to his past playing weight of around 260. The Star-Ledger says these talks happened after Mike Tannenbaum was fired, but it's unclear if John Idzik was in the fold, yet. Only the Jets.

    ahahaha 305 pounds,what a slob. Everytime i watch Bronx tale i think of Jarmarcus Russel when De'niro is on the bus and he says to his son "There's nothing worse in life then a waste of talent"

    It won't hurt to try him out, he probably still has a strong arm and he seems like he's serious about this. Chances are it won't work at all, but still, it doesn't hurt.

    He's not coming to the Jets.

    They were informal discussions probably along the lines of

    'Hey guys, you think JaMarcus can work for us'
    'LOLOLOL.....let me catch my breath.....no'
    'Yeah, it's a stupid idea'

    Yea it will hurt, the Jets image has been dragged through the mud repeatedly, If we are the first team to try out Russel we will once again look like a desperate joke

    That's just more fodder. Gotta love how the media puts out this fluff and hopes it sticks. "Fats" was horrible and is grossly out of shape (305 lbs.) A big PASS...

    If he is serious about coming back, why is he still 305? Was he too busy this fall to diet and exercise?
