What a deal for him and the Eagles. Right before Burrow and Herbert.

Ravens offered Lamar 133 GTD right?

$179M guaranteed and a no trade clause?

Good for him... I hope they can keep some talent around him.

Either the cap explodes upwards or the Eagles will regret the deal.

I like Hurts a lot but no football player is worth what he is getting paid - not even close.

Probably still good on the Eagles part they made this deal before a Burrow deal/numbers comes down the pike.

When Burrow gets his deal the Bengals will be in a similar or worse place and I think Burrow is the best QB in football right now.

The NFL has been paying QB's for past championships for two decades at this point and it is the rare QB who can actually win another after his cap number has gone through the roof. Certainly very rare once that process is well in progress.

But everybody thinks their guy is the exception so guys like Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers get paid and then never sniff another championship.

The reality is that most teams would be better trading the QB while his value is high and spreading the wealth around so the next QB has a full team at his back instead of Aaron at the Alamo.

The cap is going to explode when the new TV deal hits. Could definitely see 280/300m by 2026.

The new QB contracts are 15-20% of the cap.

Just no way that is money well spent and that's if's the guy is actually a top 5 guy.

NFL football is a 53 man sport with 48 guys suiting up. You need better than street meat behind your starters and your starters all have to be competent or the thing starts to fall apart.

I honestly don't understand how things got so wildly out of control in the 1st place. The market, I know, but it's crazy to think about sometimes and It doesn't seem relative somehow . . . ?

In some way I'm starting to feel like the fun is going out of it on some level because of it.
