Not to be Captain Obvious here, but we need to take care of the Jaguars this weekend coming up. A win against them will set it up nicely for everyone to sit back and root for the Colts at the 8 o' clock game that Sunday when the Patriots visit the undefeated Colts. If the Colts come out with a win, it would set up what would be THE most important game of our season. We'd be going into New England 1 game behind them. If we win there, we'll be first in the Division again. Everyone will forget about the last few weeks and maybe the team will build momentum knowing they control their own destiny at a time when the schedule softens up a bit(Carolina, Buffalo and Tampa Bay). It all starts with the Jaguars game tho. Let's hope everyone is on the same page and make it unbearable for that offense.
Can't disagree with anything you said there. I feel like a lot of people on here are overlooking the Jaguars because of the New England game the week after. The one thing I think we can guarantee is that the Jets players/coaches will not be overlooking another opponent all year after the games we have had the past few weeks. Getting in a position where we can control our own destiny is important and it all starts next week against the Jags.
It's definitely a biggie, especially with SD getting that win today. Obviously, we wanna win the Division, but we also need to stay in the Wildcard race in case the Pats do beat us and take the Division.
That's for sure. Everyone should be well rested and Rex should prepare very well against the Jags. We always raise our game up when we face the Pats, whether that's at home or away. We have a chance to correct this ship and this week will be when it starts.
Every game is indeed huge. Even if the Pats were to beat the Colts, which I don't think will happen, that game in Foxboro is still huge for two reasons: 1. If we are 6-4 and they're 7-3 leaving that game, with us having the tiebreak, we only have to make up 1 game in 6 weeks. The next week they travel to New Orleans, high probability of losing that game. 2. Miami is facing Tampa Bay and Carolina the next two weeks. I'm 95% certain they will be 5-5 at the end of those two weeks, I don't care how well Carolina ran the ball today. If we lose one game, we fall to 3rd place because they hold the tie break on us. Our Special Teams really f'd us last week. We cannot afford to lose a game the next 3 weeks, we really can't.
I realize that. What I'm banking on most is the momentum if we play our best football in the new few weeks. If we can feed off of that, we'll be in a good position to win the Division or stay in the WC hunt when we face Atlanta, Indy and Cincy.
We're coming off a bye. We should be well rested and well prepared. Still, I'm gonna be loud as hell at the game. This is the point when we turn our season around.
Yup. And a team that fucks up its margin of error, can't be counted on to take care of business. I hope we win vs the jags, but i wouldn;t count on a W in NE.
This. With two weeks to prepare, this coaching staff better be ready and better not be making stupid roster decisions. And yes, hopefully the fans will continue to be loud, I know I will be. This game makes or breaks our season. If we win, we're in this thing, if we lose after two weeks to prepare, ha, the season's dead. I'm going to New England for the game for the 5th time in a row in two weeks win or lose, but I'd much happier going up there for a meaningful game.
Yes. If you have a pretty good team and two weeks to prepare for an opponent who only has 1 week to prepare for you, there's no reason you shouldn't win that game.
Er...... if we beat the jags great, but I do believe NE is starting to hit their stride.... very big, but not likely win in NE.... just bein' honest....
