It's a sad moment for us guys... the angel sent to us to teach us football, the all-knowing light of enlightment at the QB position and most of all the guy who was going to lead the Raiders to the SB (all this according to Raiderjoe of course)... is getting benched in favor of Gradkowski. Hahaha life must suck in Oakland right now http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/11/18/cable-promotes-gradkowski-to-raiders-starting-qb/ News Cable promotes Gradkowski to Raiders? starting QB Posted: November 18th, 2009 | NFL.com Staff | Tags: Bruce Gradkowski, JaMarcus Russell, Oakland Raiders, Tom Cable Raiders coach Tom Cable has tabbed Bruce Gradkowski the starting quarterback, benching former No. 1 overall draft pick JaMarcus Russell, according to the team. The Raiders also have reached a tentative agreement to extend the term of their lease at Oakland Alameda County Coliseum through the 2013 season. The Joint Powers Authority, the city of Oakland, the county of Alameda and the NFL must formally approve the agreement.
Well yeah but since you have been loosing all season at least let him finish it. They have a lot of money invested in that kid...
they have to pay him regardless of whether he plays or not, and it is certain he can't play. why make the situation worse by not seeing what you may have in the backup so you can make an educated decision after the season? that doesn't make any sense.
as far as ive been able to tell, hes made no progress , keeps making the same mistakes, id bench him to, seems he doesnt have the capacity to turn himself into what hes supposed to be. then again i dont follow the raiders and all ive seen of him is what they throw on highlight reels
Russell is now No.2 QB I just went to my comcast homepage, and it says that JaMarcus Russell will be the No.2 Quarterback behind Gradkowski...Any comments?
Hard to believe that someone could be drafted No.1 and be this horrible, he's on his way to being my avatar real fast.
The Raiders can cut Russell in the uncapped season next year and at least get out from under the enormous cap impact that a failed QB pick at #1 in the draft creates. I just keep wondering how Al Davis is going to manage the transition to the next owner of the team. He can't want the fans last memories of him being the doddering old guy who drove the franchise into the ground. Not after the career he put together up until 2002. He's got to be thinking "somebody get me out of here in a way that reflects well on my ownership of the team at the end." Kind of like Leon Hess was when he got Parcells.
Raiders always seem to make me feel better about the Jets. We suck, but at least we don't suck as much at them.
I really do feel Jamalardass is the worst qb of all time... Worse then Ryan Leaf. This guy doesnt even acknowledge that he is the reason his team loses
