NOTE: This ranking does NOT take red flags such as injuries and/or character issues into account. Unlike NFL clubs I am not privy to all of the information, therefore I am not qualified to make those calls. FOR EXAMPLE: I know Dez Bryant is going much lower than his ranking, but that would be reflected in my mock draft and not here. So without further ado ... Outstanding work Jabba. I did a Top 50 and that was difficult. The players ranked from 23-38.... are some excellent candidates for the Jets. Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State Sergio Kindle, DE/OLB, Texas Jerry Hughes, DE/OLB, TCU Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho Brian Price, DT, UCLA Everson Griffen, DE/OLB, USC Linval Joseph, NT/DE, East Carolina Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers Sean Weatherspoon, OLB, Missouri Tyson Alualu, DE, California Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida Jared Odrick, DT, Penn State Jahvid Best, RB, California Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame Kareem Jackson, CB, Alabama Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers I'm disappointed you have JC rated so low. I hope Clausen comes out smoking the NFL and proving the naysayers wrong.
Thanks WW Charley Casserly called this the deepest draft with 1st RD Grades since the mid 80's That means if you're gonna pick near the bottom of RD 1, this was not a bad year to do it
This is cool. I'd like to see someone's top 50 NYJ prospects (or top 100 for someone really ambitious). This would take into account team needs as well as how players might fit into our offense/defense. This would be really helpful to have when watching the draft, so we could cross people off the board as it gets closer to our pick and keep praying for certain players to fall. Guess I don't have anything to add to this thread except ask about some of your differences from current conventional wisdom. Particularly, I'm curious about Pouncey, Terrance Cody, and Odrick. You seem to have Pouncey rated higher than most, and Cody and Odrick a bit lower than most. Care to explain?
I don't think many draft guys would disagree with my ranking of Pouncey, at least not vehemently, cause they know he's a terrific prospect, Gil Brandt even called him the best Center prospect in perhaps a decade (though I suspect he forgot Nick Mangold), but most agree he is definitely an elite prospect at center. IMO the reason you see him shoved down the board in mock drafts has more to do with interior linemen not being a primary position and needs, which is why I have Pouncey going later than his overall ranking as well. I think I projected him to Tennessee in my last mock draft, which I believe is 18 overall? Odrick I do have a little lower than most, but not a lot lower .. most have him towards the tail end of RD 1 Cody I absolutely do have much lower than most and maybe I'm way off on that, but I just have a feeling he's sliding a long way and won't get taken until the middle of round two at the earliest, and even that is too early in my view. But again, I'm definitely going against the grain on that one and could very easily be wrong.
Jimmy Clausen just has a face that I would love to punch. It reminds me of everytime I see that retard, Jonathan Paplebon.
I like this list a lot. Markice Pouncey at 9 is a really interesting call. Not sure I see him quite that high but he's likely the third best offensive lineman in the draft.
