Our running game sucks We turn the ball over twice Darrelle Revis looks human Chris Johnson runs for 98 yards The O-Line is abused Kerry Collins is throwing super-accurate bullet throws all over the field Sanchez fumbles and throws an interception ...we can still come out with a hard-fought victory. The Jets faced a lot of adversity today as a team, and they pulled through for a big win against a desperate team, this is definitely a huge win for us.
I was thinking the same thing .. We couldn't have strayed further from our offensive game plan.. A heavy run offense. That was probably the best thing I got from this game.. BUT.. dont forget we did put 14 on the board before the titans offense even saw the field..
This is what great teams do. Play shitty but find ways to win..... Does this mean we are becoming a great team?????
Titans are the best run D in the league. Revis still only gave up 4 catches for 37 yards NO TD Sanchez threw 2 TD's and rushed for 1 An We got a tough win against a gritty team. But i agree our running game needs to join the party and our O-Line aswell.
I thought the defense stopped the run very well today. At least three big runs are the majority of Chris Johnson's 98YDS. Other than that, he got stuffed behind the line, at the line & just over the line of scrimage.
I agree with Jam. Today showed the NYJ overcome some adversity. They overcame momentum shifts, turnovers, failures of all sorts and got the W. I like what I see so far.
what the fuck is with everyone saying Revis looked human? God himself couldn't defend those 4 perfect passes. Holy shit.
Agree with all of the above. Especially the play of the O-Line. Outside of the first quarter, they were thoroughly outplayed. Faneca got beat AGAIN on the first fumble by Sanchez that completely changed the game. The team showed a lot of resolve to come back after it looked like TN. had taken control of the game. Of course, the Mouton fumble didn't hurt!
Not exactly....We played the Texans without Pace and Ellis We played the Patriots without Pace and we played the Titans without Shepard and Pace. Pace is not expected back until week 5. All of that is to say, that the starters on Defense have yet to play a game together. That is what is unreal.
On Revis being human on I give more credit to Collins then anyone else. He couldn't have covered his assignment any tighter, most of the completions sent his way had to be a perfect pass because Revis was a inch a way from the ball pretty much every time.
And with everyone healthy . . . They definitely missed Lito and Strickland, although I'll give credit to Coleman and Eric Smith who both did pretty well.
Because he did not completly shut down very average receivers. Revis is human and looked it on some plays yesterday. That is not to take away from the fact taht he is one of the best CB's in football, but even they get beat once in awhile.
I think 2-4 catches he "gave up" that I remeber were: 1. As its been stated, perfectly thrown, with almost no pressure from the pass rush 2. Revis had his arm in the recievers chest and might have even gotten a touch on the ball and on at least the one tackled him instantly. I'm not sure what other human could do that. 3. The one time that he did get "burned", I really think Eric Smith got in his way. If it was man-on-man and he didn't have "help" from smith I think he would have at least batted that away. 4. The "average" recivers never beat him. To me getting beat means he was outrun down the field with some significant separation, not some timed perfect pass across the fireld where revis is an inch away. On all thos passes, an inch further and its dropped, and inch closer and revis bats it away. They were perfect throws to recievers running flat out. Notice how they didn't have to stop or slow down at all. They were perfect throws. How about Lowery? He had some good coverage too. Last year none of the 4 passes cought on Revis would have happened because Collins would have just throw at the open guy covered by Lowery.
