An 18 point lead with hardly any time remaining and I'm obviously happy with the win, but I really don't know what to say. hahah....I know I'm opening myself up to get bashed like a pinata, but I can't get the first half out of my head. If we're playing a decent team with a coaching staff that has an iota of a clue of what they're doing, we're getting destroyed. If we play San Diego this way next week, we're losing by 2 TD's at halftime. The Revis TD was a terrible throw that Philip Rivers would never attempt. Not making tackles, missed coverages, terrible offensive playcalling, the whole proverbial nine yards. Dolphins also dropped a lot of passes too, that helped us out big time, too. I actually thought Kenrick Ellis had the best first half out any one I saw. Obviously, Revis with a great play. Second half, much better. My only point....they all need to get their head out of their asses. If this wasn't the Dolphins, this would have been a nailbiter, maybe a loss. Flame away.....
No flames here... I completely agree with you. However the glimpse of the 'jets I know and love' have been enough to make me a VERY happy girl tonight!
They needed this game to get things going back in the right direction. They started off with things still going poorly but they turned it around and got some positive momentum going moving forward.
Agreed. But we did look good enough to beat SD in the second half. Just need to put a whole game together-still.
Hey, I agree. A win is a win. We need to tighten the screws, big time. We can't play the first 30 minutes next Sunday the way we did tonight.
Obviously the Chargers game has to be a concern, but I'd rather have us struggle early and pick things up in the second half than come out strong and limp to the finish. We can build on the way we played in the 2nd. Rex really needs to light into Schotty. The playcalling AND the execution in the first half were unconscionable.
No they cannot do that. I'm just happy they got positive things going in all 3 phases coming out of this game. The offense finally settled down and at least imitated an NFL offense for awhile. The key is to take the positives from the second half and build on them going into next week against a better team.
Offense looks nervous early. Took them a bit to settle down and then they started clicking much better.
It took me a minute or 2 to actually submit this thread, because I hate to sound negative after a win, but I felt ignoring it would be worse. I feel as though I'm pointing out an obvious. The only 2 good things that could be said about the first half is the fact we kept them out of the end zone, twice, and the drive to end the half. Iggy, you're right. They have, HAVE, to build off that second half.
i have many concerns as well. but am thankful for poor coaching, poor qb play and overall just poor football that was played by the dollfags. we could have been in a pretty bad situation in the middle of the second quarter if it wasnt for the dollfags complete ineptitude. oh and thank you darrelle revis. my god he is amazing. oh and david harris treated matt moore exactly the way we should always treat the dollfag qb.
Yeah, this reminds me of the Bengals game from last year where we didn't play all that great against an inept team but made enough plays to make it look like we dominated. Next week should tell us a lot but I can't really read too much into this win. Still, it's nice to be back at .500, and it's always great beating the fish.
The Jets must have the highest percentage of their score made up of defense and ST plays over the last few years.
one real positive thing i noticed was getting the ball to our old buddy dustin keller really got things going. he is tremendously important to this team and needs to not be overlooked. they need to make a point of getting him the damn ball!
