Florida Gator??? My new favorite SEC team, although I'll always have a soft spot for my Dawgs. That'll be a tough game for me. If the Gators make it through these next two weeks, I'll be interested to see how BCS points start stacking up. Props to Tommy Tuberville; Florida will have earned every bit of what they WON'T get. P.S. - I think I said it last week, but I'll repeat: Gary Danielson is the BEST college color guy in the business. He and Verne Lundquist do a great game.
That's more than I wanted to know, Sundayjack. Next thing I know, you'll be admitting to relations with barnyard animals. Friends don't let friends cheer for gators Gamecock Nation
Hehehe. . . sorry, hike. Just can't bring myself to rooting for the Old Ball Coach - which is actually a very ironic thing for me to say in the context of this thread.
I'll assume you attended neither UF or UGA because it's really impossible to root for both teams if you attended either school. So this year you will root for UF in the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, I take it? The SEC is my favorite conference because I don't hate any of the schools, the quality of play is good at the top, the schools put many players in the NFL, and I think it is the strongest conference. I, too, think Danielson is excellent. However, I have Bill Curry at #1 on my list. I think he's the best guy doing football on tv in college or the NFL.
Holy shit! I just checked my Yahoo picks and I saw Arkansas won in Auburn 27-10. I took Arkansas getting the 15 points because they are pretty good, but I never thought they would win outright.
It sure is great to be a florida gator!!! I dont see why anyone outside of our rivals could hate us. Its not like were FSU with their criminal record or UM with their cockiness which some people hate. Regardless, I couldnt ask for a better senior year football season.
The game next week against Auburn will be big. I'd like to watch that one. I think the Tigers would win. Didn't watch any college football today.
Florida International draws his ire as well. Oh, also, I hate Urban Meyer, I hate Tim Tebow, and I hate the Gators.
Well, no, I wouldn't actually want a degree from either of those schools. But, yeah, I appreciate how rooting for more than one SEC team is illogical.
I'd have to think that the Gators step into an angry and desperate Auburn, Alabama next week. Dangerous game.
the gators are overrated, theyre definitely top 10 but the media hype they recieve is amazing. if they make it through the next few weeks than fine they are definitely a top 5 prolly 3. until then, theyre games are being handed to them via horrible play of the opposition. the gators play great football but it just looks like their opponents dont show up. but the biggest problem I have is with Gators fans dubbing Tim Tebow as the return of Jesus. Its a slap in Chris Leak's face that he even makes the field. Some Gators fans are even asking for the benching of Leak in favor of Tebow. Chris Leak engineers drives and gets down field so Tebow can be thrown in to take the glory as a RB under center. Add in the fact Tebow looks like a caveman when he throws. Sure hes a freshman, but theyre making him out to be a god down here. Best of luck to the Gators and in no way am I calling them a bad team cuz theyre good. But theyre really overhyped right now.
I completely agree about Tebow. Those of us who are seniors know all that Leak has done and we think the Tebow love affair is ridiculous. However the younger students dont understand that and theyre idiots and think Tebow is amazing. Hes good at what he does, which is run the ball down the defenses throat, they know its coming and they still cant stop it. But he is in no way ready to a starting QB. I really dont see how you can say the gators dont belong being ranked where they are? Have you watched the games? You say our opponents dont show up, usually we are the ones who dont show up for the first quarter and we need to comeback and then we end up beating them by a significant margin. If the gators can make it through the next 2 games undefeated then they are hands down the best team in the country and I dont see how anyone can argue with that. They will have beaten Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn and Georgia. Then they still have South Carolina and FSU, plus the SEC Championship game. If anyone wants to say a team has a more difficult schedule then that then they clearly know nothing about college football.
Oh no up to now rankings pretty good. I'm saying the buzz is starting as if theyre going to run the table on their schedule. If they do so they should be hoisting the National Championship come the end of the year. Cause I agree their schedule is insane. Thats my point, I want to see them take out Auburn and Georgia before I believe the hype. So basically the potentials there, but the truth will come in the games you mentioned. Thats all I'm saying.
I dont think there is to much buzz, I think there is to much around Tebow for sure, but the rest of the team is just getting the respect they deserve. They have holes, the running game is far from good, but I think they definitely deserve the number 2 spot right now, the only other teams that you could even argue for are Michigan, USC and West Virginia. Michigan has been fairly impressive but USC has barely won their games the last few weeks, and West Virginia really hasnt had a tough game yet and only have ~2 all season.
