So pumped for the game. Going to my first game since the 2010 AFC championship game in Pittsburgh. After working 21 hours yesterday I'm ready to party. LETS GO JETS.
If the Jets win game 1, they go into Dallas for game 2, and it's Super Bowl hype. It is MASSIVE. If they lose game 1, they have Cowboys, Chiefs, Eagles by week six, and the season is already teetering on disaster. If game 1 is ever of the utmost importance, this is it.
Dude. Enjoy your season ticket. Looks like rain should stop before 7 PM. Hope your first game after a long time is a win.
The reason it's so important IMO, is because it's a divisional game. Not only would we start out 0-1 but we'd start 0-1 in the division. I've said it since the schedule came out, just be around .500 at the BYE, 2-4/3-3/4-2, and we're rolling. Our first 6 games feature 4 of the top 5-6 teams with the best odds to win the Super Bowl. Only thing we can't have is for us to come out and lay an egg like the Giants did last night against any of these teams. Look like a competitive football team for the first 6 weeks and win or lose close, and I'll feel very good about the rest of the year.
After watching the Patriots, Dolphins games yesterday and then the complete dismantling the cowboys put on the giants I'll be honest it's a little terrifying. This division will be the best in the NFL and I don't think it's close. The winner of the AFC East will win the SB, of that I am convinced.
To say we have a hard road ahead is a monumental understatement, I hope we are ready. Will be watching with one eye closed lol
The biggest thing about this season, is because of AR & all the media hype, the Jets will have a target on their backs. I expect everyone to be "up" for the Jets, & hopefully the offense is ready to start the season. Lots of pressure on the team, & obviously, the first bunch of games will be tough. For me, I'm interested to see how the team handles the pressure, & especially how Breece looks. It's been a wild off-season... good luck to us all! .
tonight is going to be pandemonium at the stadium. something like we haven't seen/experienced since the jets/colts playoff game, jets/green bay to win the division, jets/bengals win and in, and the patriots game where decker caught it in the corner of the endzone. i cannot wait for this shit.
No one outside of the Jets fanbase wants the Jets to win tonight. That's our new reality. People always wanted us to lose because we've been a punching bag for a decade and it's funny, but now there's the added caveat of we are supposed to be good. I would love to pretend that I can tune out the noise if we lose but I can't even stand TGG after a meaningless loss in the doldrums of a typical Jets December. Working with Bills, Giants, Pats and Dolphins fans every day probably doesn't help. I just for once want to be that fanbase that has the heroic performance from their star QB on opening night in primetime. Here's to hoping that's tonight.
Truer words have never been written. We went from "Lol, the Jets are a bunch of slap dick clowns" to "I want to see Aaron Rodgers fall apart and get the shit knocked out of him." And while it was usually fans of the other AFC East teams and the fans of the Giants that would revel in a Jets loss, there will now be a fuck ton more that will be dying to see a Jets loss. If the Jets don't live up to expectations (and when do they ever do?) it's going to be the worst time to be a Jets fan.
I dont know that that is necessarily true. People are getting sick of Buffalo and there's a lot of national love for Rodgers
Who loves Rodgers besides Jets fans? Honest question. I truly believe there are way more people out there that want him to fail than the to suceed.
I've come across numerous posts on social media from Packers fans and Aaron Rodgers fans who still love him and want to see him succeed as a New York Jet.
Haven't been this on edge for a Jets game since the 2010 division round vs. Pats... and I really shouldn't be. I don't want to put too much worth into the outcome of this game... but I do want to see us be competitive against a solid division rival and get through the game healthy. Our O-line must keep Rodgers comfortable... we're cooked if they don't. No Von Miller is a plus... Monday Night Football... all eyes upon us. Go JETS!
The hype train is running so fast that anything outside of a title will lead to insane amounts of ridicule. No fault of the Jets, that's just what the machine does. I truly have not come across a single non-Jets fan (outside of a few Packers fans who aren't children) that wants Rodgers to succeed.
While I was flying home from my in-laws in South Carolina, I overheard three people talking football. They were all excited to see Rodgers in New York and wanted him to succeed. These were all Southerners.
Who gives a shit how people feel about Aaron Rodgers? What matters is how WE feel. And I feel great...
