Abraham's agents said they will be setting up visits to teams John Abraham may be interested in going to. Jets have no say where he goes. Abraham will spend a week or two visting teams and deciding where he wants to go. http://www.nj.com/jets/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/1142059188143910.xml&coll=1 "Meanwhile, the agents for Jets Pro Bowl defensive end John Abraham said yesterday that their client plans to go on tour next week, visiting three or possibly four teams in an effort to find a new home". "Abraham, who has been slapped with the franchise tag ($8.3 million) but has requested and will be granted a trade, will visit Denver, Washington, Seattle and perhaps Oakland or Atlanta".
Yes they do, because if they don't agree to a trade the other team has to hand over two first round draft choices. Abraham and the Jets need to work together, effectively, for anything to get done.
Yeah, I think the point is that Abe can make life difficult for the Jets if he doesn't like where the Jets decide to send him. He could just sign the tender sheet, then show up to camp, and be a royal pain in the ass. I still have no clue how this thing is going to play out. I know it has been really ugly, and I would just like it over so the team can concentrate on more pressing business.
