I'm not sure if anybody else has been watchin NFL Europe, but I try to catch what I can to see what we have over there. I already knew about Snell from the official site and also I have a buddy who is an "insider" from his campaign, but today was the first day I really got to sit and evaluate him. Now keep in mind, I wouldnt have taken the time to write a thread about an interior linemen over in NFL Europe if he really didnt impress me.. The guy has amazing mobility. Somebody compared him to Mike Wahle that I know..and I thought he was crazy..now I know exactly what he was talking about. Snell is amazingly quick off the snap and really gets to the second level in a hurry. I was also impressed w/ his technique. He does a great job of getting his hands on the defender and pushing him laterally to create holes. The only thing i'd like to see him improve on is his pass protection. He isn't horrible by any means, but I'd like to see him get stronger at the point of attack. Nothing alil time in the weight room cant solve. Believe it or not, I think this guy has the ability to give Brandon Moore a run for his money. He could be a real asset on the football field w/ his mobility, and is even quicker off the snap than Moore is(which is saying something). We def. have a prospect in Europe we can be excited about, and I encourage anyone who is watching NFL Europe to take acouple mins. and familarize themselves w/ issac Snell. I was thoroughly impressed.
You're the third different person I've seen mention how impressive Snell has been over in NFL Europe. Him and Missant I hear are doing really well, Snell in particular. It'd be nice if we had two huge OL assets already in our possession, in Katnik and Snell, and perhaps even Missant.
Yeah Missant looked good too...I dont think he has Starting ability like Snell does, but he certainly could stick around as a back-up.
Just look at my Antaaj Hawthorne thread in NFL section. I mentioned him. Him and Missant opened a huge ass hole for the Galaxy RB today. They've both looked impressive.
Funny, because Sept 04 a lot of people were saying he had 1st round talent in the 05 draft and would go in the first round! Now's he's a scrub in a scrub league at another position... Amazing.
projected '06 line (WITHOUT DRAFT) LT- Adrian Jones LG-Pete Kendall C- Katnik RG- Issac Snell RT- Scott Gragg?
I sure as hell wouldn't be playing in the backfield if that's our plan. Demand a trade if I was C-Mart right now.
Right now? LT- Jones/Cavka LG- Kendall/Snell C- Katnik/Missant RG- Moore/Snell/ King(Another NFLE guy) RT- Gragg/Cavka (scary stuff)
I saw the game and I thought that MISSANT showed extremely well! IMO SNELL was awesome. Both have talent, that was plain to see. That RB was great too!( ROBINSON)
LT A.JONES LG M.J.GILES C P.KENDALL RG B.MOORE RT B.HOPKINS Is hopefully what our line will look like.
Ive watched some of Cavka and I dont think he is starting matrial at this point. He has alot of natural agility and has great size for the position, but he lacks aggression and his technique is not great.
I TIVO a couple of Jets wins each season so I have something to watch in March, April, May and June. I have watched the Jets vs. Bills game the past two nights, focusing in on A. Jones solely. I think he has a very bright future at LT, especially given that his experience level is low given his transition from TE to T at Kansas. He's nimble, and was beaten only once in that game. He gets to the second level on run plays too. The more I think about it, the more it's sinking in to me that the Jets won't draft D'Brick (though they'll keep up apperances). That's why I think they were focused on Runyan: they need a RT. I would say this: let Goodwin go. That cat got beaten left and right all game. Goodwin was Sam Adams' wipping boy all game. He was horrible. Let Marrone take Goodwin off our hands. I wouldn't pay a nickel more than what we paid him in 2005, and that's being generous.
You guess wrong. He's not a guy that someone from the Parcells tree would choose, not to mention ADRIAN JONES HAS THE SAME POTENTIAL!
