Im not talking about monday, but im talking about the road to the superbowl. The Colts have looked extremely flat, are missing their best player not named Peyton, and might not even make the playoffs. The Chargers also are a longshot to make the playoffs. The Steelers are missing key players on their offensive and defensive line, their best offensive player now plays for us, and their QB is incredibly banged up and they seem to be struggling mightily every week (barely beat the Bills come on now) Ravens might still be somewhat of a threat, but theyre definitely looking shakey and quite unimpressive lately, especially losing to a terrible looking Steelers team. But they might just be the 'second biggest threat" out there. Then you just have the garbage teams that are going to trickle into the playoffs via a combination of luck and who knows what else. Maybe im looking at this wrong but unless the Steelers get healthy, It seems like the Pats are the only thing standing between us and the superbowl.
I think the ravens and steelers are both still threats no matter how you slice it. But like us, they've both been inconsistent too. the jags and chiefs? They don't match up well against us, So I hope both teams make the playoffss
Ravens and Steelers are definite threats man. Did you see both their defenses tonight? With our spurts of offense, and the way we can struggle to put up points they could definitley give us problems if we don't play good ball. There is no easy game in the NFL and there definitley won't be one come January.
Have you seen the way we have been winning most of our games lately?Every team is a threat in the AFC we have been taken to the brink by many sub 500 teams.Granted if we can have that so called complete game where all three phases click then yes I do think we are the team to be reckoned with but until we can get that to work anything can happen.
I agree about the Steelers defense. But their offensive line is terrible. With Revis completely shutting down Ward, their rushing game being a non factor, my only questions is can Cromartie keep up with Wallaces speed? And quite frankly I think he can, especially since with how bad their oline is hes not going to get much time. The Ravens defense is just going to get lit the hell up. They gave up 400 passing yards to Buffalo for christ sake.
well...the Steelers just beat the Ravens...on the road...with a QB on a broken wheel. I would consider the Steelers a threat.
I agree the Patriots or the Chargers if they make it. Kansas City and Jacksonville are running teams, we will squash them. Indy is tough no matter what, but if Manning continues doing what he is doing, they wont stand a chance. Steelers and Ravens both have mediocre offenses, if we can score at least 17 points on their defenses we can beat them too. Again Patriots will be the toughest especially if we sweep them, they will be ready to murder children to beat us if meet them a third time after having swept them.
both teams have absurdly good defenses, and you'd be insane not to consider them threats. other than them and the pats, though, i'd think that's all.
This is true, but the Steelers are hurting at a bad time, so we will see when we play them in two weeks. I have full confidence the Jets can beat them up. :steelers:
If we can stay healthy, man I feel great about out chances to win it all; especially if we have homefield advantage. Tommorrow night will be huge, we play Jet football; we win. This is a great time to be a Jet fan. I hate counting my chickens before they hatch, but this is what Rex and the boys do to you; they make you feel invincible. BTW, we are 17-4 since losing to new England last season.....pretty impressive.
You kidding? We win this game, two weeks from now we'll be talking about the newest "biggest game of the year" against Pittsburgh on the road, with the winner almost assuredly getting the #1 seed. Pittsburgh is absolutely a threat for that reason. So is Baltimore, seeing as they already beat us at home, and they're always a good team. San Diego is the #2 offense and the #1 defense, so if they get in, they'll be tough. Kansas City I can't take all that seriously, but they have some really talented players on that team. And you can never count out Peyton Manning.
And they also basically shut down the Steelers today. The Ravens defense is always a force. It's not up to their normal standards, but it's still very good. I agree about Pittsburgh being a good matchup for our offense. Put Cro and Revis on Ward and Wallace, and we can probably generate a lot of pressure that game. I question if our offense can score points, but we have some playmakers who should be able to rise to the occasion and give us a chance. Pittsburgh can be burned through the air from time to time, and we have guys who can do that. And everyone says we should bring out the Brad Smith Wildcat pass this week...I say we bring it out against Pittsburgh.
I say do whatever you have to do to win tonight. It's infinitely more important to win the division than it is to get home field throughout. If we win the division we get the #2 seed almost assuredly, while needing to beat Pitt for the #1 seed. It all starts tonight, and we need this game to assert our dominance in the league.
u folks can rip me a new one but BOTH the steelers and ravens have a better defense than us.....overall faster on D and do not have to bring the house to get to the QB. that being said the offenses are probably on par with one another and i would give a slight edge to the jets for special teams. the balance of power in the AFC is shifting from the colts/chargers to the jets/steelers/ravens - of course with the pats as well. jil
