In the preseason game against the Panthers I though he might have intentionally gone after Stewarts knee on the play he injured him. Especially after Baker was taken out at the knee. Then yesterday he went right at Fred Jacksons knees and starter cheering/taunting when he was obviously in pain. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving what I'm seeing from him so far, I just wonder if others think he might be dirty? Is that where his nickname comes from?
I don't think he is a dirty player in the sense that he wants to hurt someone to take him out of the game. I just think he's the kind of player who will do anything to stop the defender from going 1 more inch. He will hit you as hard as he can and if you get hurt in the process its unfortunate but he's not going to lay off a little to save your health.
Yes, he has a reputation for taking cheap shots in Baton Rouge and Washington. I don't think that the hit on Jackson was a cheap shot though.
The hit on Jackson was legit. I can't believe the guy is that jacked without doing some form of supplements / drugs but it is what it is. He's a freak of nature and a scary hitter.
I would like nothing more than for Landry to do to Brady and/or Gronkowski what he did to Jackson yesterday. It would be my happiest moment as a Jet fan, for sure.
Not for nothing but he reminds me of your stereotypical goon. Gets his jacks off laying hits and hurting players. I definitely see why he has the reputation but so far I haven't seen any egregious cheap shots.
That I didn't like. When he was clapping after the play. It was a nice play and I was fine with him clapping like that but it looked like he noticed he was hurt or atleast should have noticed he wasn't getting up but he kept clapping.
all he did is get up and clap running backs get tackled low all of the time, its why we see people get hurdled every week ... its not just landry and its not dirty
Who cares if he's dirty? As long as we win and he doesn't get suspended for a dirty hit, I don't care who he destroys in the process.
I didn't see much cheering after that play, it was a diving tackle over another jet.. He did celebrate the tackle as he got off the turf, but he wasn't taunting IMO. I didn't like a couple of late hits he had out of bounds, I don't think he was called for them but still, late OOB. I think he's just a hard hitter.
He's definitely a tough son of a bitch. I would have felt better about the Jackson hit if he just turned around and headed back to the defensive huddle, no need to celebrate there. Dirty or not, I don't know yet? I am glad he is on our team, today. Edit: just watched the video again. It was a clean hit, but he submarines the shit out of him. Just go back to the huddle, don't need to stand over Jackson and clap, that's stupid. It makes a clean hit look dirty.
I remember when some doctor proved that Barry Bonds was juicing using the fat free mass index and that it was physically impossible to have his type of physique without drugs. Well I would imagine the same would apply for Landry.
Landry is def a dirty player but hes our dirty player, people act like they felt "Bad" when Jackson went down and looked injured, BS no you didn't you were just as happy as i was knowing one of there best weapons was done for the day
I agree. He doesn't look like an HGH guy (see Clay Matthew's neanderthal forehead) but there's no way you can get that kind of definition and cut without something more than creatine and a good diet. Maybin, too, had a good offseason program. Anyone else think it's possible to gain this much muscle mass so fast? My .02.
