It seems like every time this team starts gaining support from outsiders they tend to collapse, but I really feel like, even with all the question marks, this team can go on a serious winning streak, given how they generally respond to adversity, their schedule and the recent negative variables that have been seemingly syncing between the other prospective playoff teams: Remaining Schedule: @Denver Buffalo @Washington Kansas City Philly Giants @Miami AFC Playoff Contenders: Buffalo (5-4) - looks to be sinking quickly (obviously not an opponent to overlook) Pitt (7-3) - Roethlisberger has a broken thumb. Baltimore (6-3) - At least we lose to playoff teams. They're really inconsistent. Cincy (6-3) - Huge loss of Leon Hall and hopefully that rookie wall comes soon. Texans (7-3) - Schaub Tennessee (5-4) - Honestly haven't seen enough of them this yr to form an opinion. Oakland (5-4) - lack of chemistry w/ Palmer, plus they are the Raiders. Guess one could throw SD in there because they always seem to get hot late in the season, but Rivers has been pretty bad this yr. I don't see any super solid tight ends on any of those teams on the schedule, so I don't think this is such a stretch to think an impending run is on the horizon. I'm really not a sunshiny fan and I honestly thought last year's Jets team was the true SB team, but I still think if this team could get hot heading into the playoffs, that they could make a Cardinals type run at the thing. And yeah yeah one game at a time, I know, but they need to go into Denver and cleanse themselves of that horrendous loss in Tebow's blood as far as I'm concerned. I really think this short week will end up being a positive.
we are winning it all baby WOOOOO - i just spoke to rex... he said so .9 game win streak in the works
We need to beat up on Denver really bad, I mean like a 42 - 6 game and get back on track. I see us winning 6 out of the 7 games with a loss to either Eagles or Giants, but still I would not assume any of the games yet. The way we played Sunday night, we could have lost to any of those teams. The team has to find a rallying point and stick to it for the rest of the season i.e. Revenge on NE. Jets 11-5 Baltimore 11-5 Bengals 10-6 Titans 10-6 New England 13-3 (Wins AFC East) Buffalo 9-7 Pitt 12-4 (Wins AFC North) Texans 12-4 (Wins AFC South) Oakland 7-9 Chargers 9-7 (Wins AFC West) We need to win at least 6 games to have a solid spot in the wildcard. NE wins the 1# seed and we face them again like last year in divisional.
If there was ever a time to have that critical moment in the season where the coach goes off on his team and it results in a winning streak to a tremendous run in the playoffs, this is it.
Just so you know, I too believe we have the talent to win these last seven games. I've wanted to post that gif of the dog doing the poopie walk for a while now and this seemed like a great thread for it. Sunshiners fricken' rule Baby!
I think so. Given the schedule and this team's tendency to bounce back when everyone counts them out, it has the makings for it.(hopefully we continue to get disrespected, because anytime we're favored or the media is kissing our ass....we go into a tailspin). It's not out of the question for this team to go 7-0. It just depends if we can continue to beat inferior opponents like we have the past couple of years and which eagles team we get (the dallas game eagles or the giants/cardinals/bills/etc version). the giants game will be tough but i think we match up well against their offense. I'm a little terrified of their front 4 against our o line though.
it wouldnt surprise me if the Jets win every game. The Denver game would let everyone know if the Jets are serious about getting back on track or not.
@Denver - L(I just think Tebow brings something to the table a team with almost no rest/practice can compete with...I could be wrong) Buffalo - W @Washington - W Kansas City - W Philly - W Giants - L (Possible L depending on how they are doing and how bad they need it on week 16) @Miami - W So I see you at either 11-5 or 10-6 to end the season. Looking at the other potential playoff teams, and their schedules, I suspect there may be a fight to make the wild card. This Assumes that all those other teams play the way they have been, and only lose a game or 2 going forward. So do you guys like to be the under dog or not? It seems whenever you are not favored to Win, everyone is "disrespecting you, we are all haters, and we know nothing about the Jets yet when you ARE favored, if you lose, its because the media was "kissing your ass", causing you to go into a tailspin. being a Jets fan appears to be like riding a see-saw, ups and down all season, every year.
There is not a reason this team shouldn't finish up 6-1 in their last 7 at worst. The sched is soft, up until last week we were playing much better. I'm confident this team will go on a run, I'm concerned about this game tomorrow b/c some of these bad losses seem to linger another week but we'll find a way to win and get on a roll. Will we make another deep run in January? I don't know but I think we can.
They played much worse in their biggest game last year(a bigger game b/c it was later in the season) and seemed to be able to recover.
The QB is fine if the OL plays the way they can which they did not the other night. Even w/ perceived poor QB play we still had a chance to win that game, don't let the final score fool you.
The schedule is packed with patsy teams against which the Jets should roll over. We know our team better than that don't we.. Even so, with soft competition, how battle tested will the Jets be should they even make it to the post season since it doesn't appear they can beat any real contenders. Unless this team suddenly turns into some kind of juggernaut which I highly doubt, I'm not expecting a lot should the Jets make the playoffs.
