I need Cincinnati to win. I am playing against a friend in our 6th annual bowl contest. This year we are using confidence points and no point spreads. (We change up the style every year. I think we may continue with this style, however. The contest was very close this year.) I put 29 points on Cincinnati to win. He put 15 on them to win. Our records so far (points accumulated, points lost, points remaining): me: 363-89-76 him: 389-102-37 picks remaining- me: Cincinnati 29, Southern Mississippi 21, Ohio State 26 him: Cincinnati 15, Southern Mississippi 13, Ohio State 9 If Western Michigan, Southern Mississippi, and Ohio State win I will lose the contest by 1 point! One point out of a possible 528. That would be amazing and would totally suck.
I'm very happy. Big East went undefeated in bowl play and I'm still alive in my contest. The GMAC Bowl is irrelevent in the contest. It all comes down to Ohio State-Florida. If OSU wins, I win. If Florida wins, my friend wins. It is amazing how we used confidence points (528 possible points) and picked all 32 games and yet it will come down to the BCS Championship Game. Using confidence points in pick 'em contests is truly the way to go.
