    I'd never heard this before. I just listened to a Gammons interview, where he tears into Boras and ARod for their announcement. The clip starts with Boras talking about how they just sent notice to the Yankees, and how they didn't release anything, and blah blah blah.

    Then, Gammons contrasts that with Pedroia who, when he was at Arizona State, surrendered his scholarship so that ASU could go out and get a top notch pitcher to make a run at the College World Series. The team honored him by putting the initials "DP" on their caps (either that, or they were real big fans of two-on-ones, which could also be true).

    wow,

    Even if you don't like the Red Sox, it's hard not to root for Pedroia after a story like that.

    Nice story, I still can't stand pedroia. he's the ype of player you'd love if he was on you team but you hate him as an opponent.

    Knew this story already, but thatnks for the props, SJ.

    Nowadays, with some of these PrimaDona players, it's good to see a pro athlete get recognition for showing class.
