    Not sure if this link will work. I legally "gifted" the link. Perhaps someone more techie astute who reads the WSJ can post the article if my link inoperative. The article is well worth reading. To summarize it, SF has the narrowest spread when lining up (linemen closest together than any other team), leaving more outside space for the defense to cover, allowing more plays in the middle
