My best mate is a Seahawks fan and as we play them next year and we have friends in Seattle, we were thinking of going to Qwest Field

    Just a few questions

Over here it might as well be illegal to step into a "home end" at an away game

I gather this isnt in practice in the NFL, so if I wear my Jets jersey I'm not going to get a thump from some angry man from Seattle?

Also, I've always read on the jets official site that tickets for home games are scarce and require memberships etc

Is this the case or is it lies? as is the case with Manchester United games (they say tickets are hard to get hold of when actually it has never been as easy as it is at the moment)

The reason I call this into question is because I'm also looking a trip over to NY/NJ in september to hopefully see the Mets, Rangers and Jets and I remember watching the Pats game on TV this year I could see many empty seats

    Cheers for any help guys

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be hard to find tickets if you're willing to buy off the internet, and mabey pay a little more than face value. Keep an eye on the tickets section here as well.

There is a home side and an away side of the field, but i'm not sure how it would be in seattle with regards to that.

God is nothing sacred , a Manure fan on TGG:wink:

You should be fine , but there are always gobshites in any sport in any game. Pretty relaxed lot in Seattle , but noisey!

I've been wondering wtf your name was supposed to be, and now i get it. What's with Gus though? Not something to do with Guus Hiddink?

www.stubhub.com or www.Craigslist.com --> seattle. Those are your friends.

That's pretty much the only way to get tickets, but you will be guaranteed to be able to find a pair, possibly even at face value (on craigslist). The fans there will be civil. Qwest field is supposed to be a great atmosphere, the stadium is supposed to be one of the best in the sport, and I would love to check out a game there. As long as your not being too obnoxious, you wont have any trouble. Especially seeing as your boy is a Seahawks fan.

Hey, and your a mets and rangers fan too? My favorite euro ever!

I would try stubhub for tickets. Also, in a non playoff or rivalry game against the Jets the crowd shouldn't be too rowdy. As long as you are not a complete ass you should be fine

I'll keep relatively quiet dont worry ;)

Seeing as NFL UK has been announced for this year and the chances of it being us are slim, this gonna get the green light as soon as the fixtures are set in stone

What does everyone think of NFLUK?

If they played regular season games from the Premiership over in america, I should imagine no one would stand for it

I feel sorry for the fans who get 1 game a season taken away from them if they are regular attenders

neworderdude, did you get to a game. I've stood in the Kop (Main Stand and Kemlyn Road as well), the Kippax and the Gelder watching United and it got a bit hairy especially at Leeds

Usually fans in opposing stadiums aren't assholes to ya. I've been to Jet away games against Cleveland two years ago, Oakland a couple of years back, Miami, and Tenn this year. You have the occasional drunk ~20 year old screaming stupid crap at ya, but majority of the people enjoy having an opposing fan around to hear what they think. Some of my better football conversations have been at opposing stadiums

I normally go every 2 years to New York for a Jets game and try and get a Yankee play off game as well. Tickets in my experience are very easy to come by at games from scalpers and general sale depending on how well the Jets are doing. Internet sources will always supply but at a pretty hefty mark up- try ticketsforu.com.

New Yorkers are a tough breed and don't suffer fools gladly, opposing fans usually give us a pretty hard time away from home, get a tough shell and learn how to say "fu** off asshole" with plenty accent in 'New Yoik'.

I wouldn't advise a trip to Philly in a Jets shirt unless your ears are painted on.

Have to agree with pretty much everyone here. If you go to a game looking for trouble you will find it. If you go wearing your teams Jersey and you aren't an abnoxious loudmouth. You should be fine. I wear my Jet jersey to Panthers games and although I have had some people push some buttons to try and get me started once they figure out that its not happening usually turns out to be a good time for all. Course I am 6'4 350 but my scrappin days are over.

    lol

It's a lot different in England, you can get found out being an away fan without wearing any colours. If you go away to Liverpool the locals will ask you the time to see if you have a Manchester accent and if they suss you there a good chance you will be followed, beaten, mugged of even stabbed.

    happens every year

never been stabbed but been chased through Stanley Park (the park behind Unfilled) a couple of times due to a thick mancunian accent and the mancunian "look"

Anyway, my cousin who is the Hawks fan has no money so its looking like I will be over for the Broncos game with my other half. I seriously cannot wait. Tailgaiting sounds like a less moody version of what me and all my mates do at old trafford on match days (Gather outside the pub, put our flags up, drink lots, sing united songs and then walk down to the ground)

as for tickets...I am gathering that it will be a good idea to keep my eyes on this board and if that fails see what I can grab outside the meadowlands on gameday?
