WTG Brook! Just got my numbers back from a check up on Friday.. BP down, HR down, Sugar good. Weight stable which was a shock considering my job is where I get my exercise. Keep putting in the work man.. You'll be fine!
Good job. I had my review on Thursday, with mixed results. EKG good; BP good; A1C right on the border; weight going down, but still too high; cholesterol low, but not low enough; heart rate is low, and maybe too low. Path forward is injectable meds for cholesterol, and I'm wearing a heart monitor right now to see just how low my heart rate actually goes. Short Answer: I should have taken better care of myself when I was young, and leistened to my mother, who sai, "Don't get old."
Man, that's really impressive. Good for you! I do three 1-mile walks per day, and that seems like a lot.
One day last year I walked 9.5 miles in one day and literally took 2 weeks to recover. Doing that daily is intense! Impressive stuff, @Brook! I normally do 1 mile when I work out and it feels like a lot.
"A lot" is a relative term, but for a lot of people 1 mile a day is pretty damn good. It's a challenge for some people just to get out of a chair.
Just came back from my early evening walk. 7.6 miles today overall. It is OK for a Sunday. I just don't know what I will do when football season starts with Jets playing on Sundays. Looks like Sunday's will be my cheat days for 4 months.
That's a solid sunday walk.... but unless you were planning on tailgating, there's no reason to stop. My favorite sundays are in the fall and we have hurricane swell..... I'll surf all morning from like 7am - almost noon.... makes lots of room for being glutonous (sp?) watching football the rest of the day!
It looks like a hot one out there today. It's already 80F at Teterboro. If you do go for a long walk today, take all the precautions. The heat can really wipe you out.
So, @Brook! how have you been doing the last couple of days? It has been pretty hot. Even though mornings might be better, I have been taking my walks in the evenings, after work. In fact, I am on one of my walks right now. I find that also helps shut down my appetite.
