I don't wanna make a big deal about this, as I'm just one of thousands of posters on this board, and only one of several MOD'S.I have decided to not only step away from being MOD, TGG but also from being a sports fan. The Boston fans in my area constantly shoving their success down my throat, combined w/ my teams constantly losing have taken a severe toll on me. I have such passion for competition and sports that I wear my heart on my sleeve, and the lack of class and bad luck i've been subjected to have begun to make me take it out on my family, friends and frankly myself.I can no longer do that. I used to be able to come onto TGG express how I felt, and be able to move on. But due to the influx of the classless folks I referred to above, that is no longer possible. I wanna thank all the great people I have encountered while touring this site, who have made being a jet fan enjoyable. I also want to thank the admin. for giving me a chance to be a MOD. I sincerely enjoyed it and hope I made a difference. To the Boston fans..I hope your happy w/ all your success. My only hope is that one day the lack of class you have displayed comes back to haunt you. Farewell everyone, safe travels and happy holidays.
Don't let em get to you man. I can relate to you, as I go to a huge University crowded with classless Boston, Steelers, Baltimore/Washington, and even NY fans. Also, I'm a Knicks fan and a Jets fan, so its bad news in both boats. You just have to be patient, and I'm sure you have been thru more than I have (yet). You have to realize it's a game and that those lucky fans in Boston have not done anything more than you have to deserve their winning ways, its just a good time for them and the Jets time will come.
Ahh come on bro....you can't let the Bastin fack tards win. But I can relate....everyone is a "Pats fan" it seems....
If it's like that Kurt, do yourself a favor and take some time off. LIfe is too short to add more stress on top of what life brings everyday. See ya down the road man!!
cmon Kurt, don't you think you are taking this just a bit too serious? I'd hate to lose a solid contributor to this board, such as yourself, this board certainly can't stand to lose any solid posters. You just need to ride it out and look forward to the day that the sports god moves on to another city. The day will come that this dynasty ends, dealing with these jerkoffs now will make it that much sweeter when it does.
Ah, don't take it so personally. In the end, it's just a freaking game. Worry about bigger things in life like your family, health and job. Everything else is secondary. If some clown wants to get in your face and boast how his team is the best, turn away. If the newspapers in your area are all PATS, don't read them. If the select group of douchebags on this site is too much to take, put them on ignore. To say that you're giving it all up is too much...
seriously though kurt, i'm not sure how serious you are about not being a sports fan anymore. that sounds absurd. This board would lose a very good poster if you stopped posting. I know I've picked up some good nuggets of knowledge from you. Don't let these Boston Fags change you like this. They're wickid fuckin gay.
A few weeks ago on PatriotsPlanet I started a thread called "Encouraging News Thread for Steelers Fans" - I think it must have been after the Steelers had just lost a tough overtime game on the road 19-16 (I forget who they were playing but I recall it was a game the Steelers were supposed to have won). The NFL won't be any fun at all for Patriots fans if all the fans of other teams just give up hope all together. Hang in there. Before Eric Mangini the Jets were actually my second favorite NFL team. You guys deserve better. You still have the best cheer in the whole NFL: J E T S JETS!!!
It does suck, but try not to let it worry you to much. These Pats jerkoffs talk a lot of trash, but they usually eating the concrete by the end of each weeks game, because they talk to much shit and they can't back it up. Happens every weekend at some bar..
Holy shit Kurt, come on. I know guys are trying to spare your feelings and all, but seriously bro. I take sports seriously too, but damn, if I gave up whenever something was wrong, I'd never be anything but a bandwagoner. I was a Yankees fan in the 80s. I know you didn't experience a time when the Mets were far superior, but they were, and I had to hear it every day, and Boston and the Tigers were always ahead of us in the division. I've been a Jets fan since the 80s too. We've seen worse than right now. Shit we used to get our asses handed to us by those terrible Colts, pre-Manning. It's entertainment man. Sure, it's fun to win, but sometimes you have to deal with losing. Massholes have been dealing with losing for decades. So they have their time in the Sun now. It will all end one day. It always does.
Do what I have done in the past. Take a few days and just chill; think things over. When you come back; everything is right again.
haha germans didnt bomb pearl harbor lol what a tard thing to say youll be regretin that one ina few minutes
Kurt, this clearly isnt the way to go.... when things get tough, do you just give up? Now I know you clearly take it to heart when our beloved Jets dont perform up to far, and all that is Boston and evil conquers the sports world. But serioulsy, its not going to get better just by giving it up. If anything, I think it would just be harder to give up something you love so much with a passion. If you are as serious about sports as you say you are, then this would likely be 100x harder then someone who smokes 3 packs a day, giving up cigarettes cold turkey. It's just not going to happen. And you think the Massholes are going to let you off the hook? NOOO way man. They will egg you on, because they will know deep down that you are a Jets fan. The taunting may even get worse, who knows...but there is light at the end of the tunnel, and we eventually will get there. So dont step away because you cant, stay because you can...you should, and you know what your life will become without sports in it.
I look it at this way. No one shot me while shopping in Omaha or praying in Colorado so I'm content. We love our sports buts its only a freaking game.
