Ihedigbo deserves more recognition. Besides playing on Special Teams, Ihedigbo deserves more playing time on the defensive side of the ball. He plays with such intensity, and is consistent with his tackling when he's in on a play. Who agrees?
I'm sure there's a reason why he doesn't play more but he's a pretty good blitzer and plays with a lot of emotion. The Jets know more about him then we do in coverage. He's great on ST though.
If I remember from a couple years ago he couldn't cover worth a shit. Hits like a beast but is poor in coverage.
I disagree, his role is perfect as is. He's a good blitzer and solid special teamer, but I'm not eager to see him in coverage more.
The Eric Smith we saw today was an imposter! Of course he had a bad game, he was being filled in for by some white guy.
Bingo. Maybe he should be in for 3-5 more blitzes a game, but beyond that, I'd prefer to see more Pool than more Dig.
He's a liability in coverage. He's fine where he is. No need to take him out of his element when he's doing so well.
That's because he's only asked to blitz and never asked to cover. He's doing great in his role but what we're seeing is his ceiling. If the CS put him out there on a LB or a Slot WR, we'd all want him dead.
He's a great tackler and good on run support and can blitz, but he couldn't cover a receiver with a blanket.
Thread bump, not for playing time (because after further review, the role he is in now what he excels in), but for recognition. Ihedigbo with the punt recovery, and great pressure tonight against the Bengals. I hope he's able to hit Brady around next Monday.
