For the new Madden. My kid bought the game and is killing me using the eagles. I dont have the time to practice and I know another beat down is coming - lol.

Can anyone recomend some good offensive plays or strats. So far I am getting stuffed on most pass plays that arn't to a TE. Thanks in advance for replying.

Ground him if he beats you. That should solve all problems.

    Offensive Stategy w/the Jets

    Running Game:
Try running with Richardson up the gut on runing downs. You can usually pickup between 3-5 yards with him to setup better 2nd down situations. You can also have similar success with TJ running out of the singleback formation behind Faneca. Switch this up and keep them guessing. For toss plays, sub in Washington and run to the side where you have the advantage. What I mean is if they're in man defense, motion the WR out of the toss side so it's just you and the lead blockers. If they're in zone defense motion a WR or TE to the toss side so you have more blockers than defenders.

    Passing Game:
The most important thing in the passing game is obviously reading the defense. Presnap you can determine whether they're in man or zone by either putting all the receivers on one side or by motioning a receiver across the formation to see if the defender follows. When putting all the receivers on one side, if there is no corner back on the empty side they're in man. Obviously when motioning a receiver if the DB follows him they're in man.

If they are in man defense look for obvious mismatches and adjust the routes of the receivers to take advantage of those mismatches. Outs and flags work very well against man coverage if you have a speed mismatch. If you can recognize only one safety against man, you can try sending Coles & Cotch on a fly on opposite sidelines while sending the slot guy or TE on a deep slant. If the post snap read does in fact only show one safety, try throwing the bomb to the WR that doesn't have the safety over the top.

When facing a zone, try working slants with the receivers and hitting them between defenders in the zone. This will take some work to get the timing down, but if you recognize the zone you can usually throw the ball as the receiver is passing one defender in the zone but before he reaches the next defender. Be sure to zip it in there with Favre. You can also send Keller up the seam against zone coverage and try to split the zone deep.

Post snap you have two more important reads. First, what are the safeties doing? If they're staying deep, you'll need to focus on short-itermediate underneat stuff most of the time. If you see only one safety or a safety blitz you can look for the deep passes to be open. The next read is the linebackers - are they dropping into zone, blitzing, or covering a man? This will dictate where you can go with your pass.

If you get a good presnap read, that will give you and idea of what receiver to look for and where on the field. The post-snap read will tell you if your presnap was correct and which receiver to go to.

Be sure to switch it up to keep the defense guessing. Throw in a screen play here and there if you're facing a team that blitzes all the time.

    Good luck.

Just use hot routes on him. What works best for me is hooks .
This madden seems awefully difficult to master defending passes and equally to pass

Nice write up. You know your shit. I also cheat my offensive line on the toss (XBOX 360) Left trigger then left joystick in the direction of the toss( this works great on counters. I've pulled off a 62 yard rush with T. jones and it was easy, also on goal line Left Trigger then forward on the left stick, pass LT + L stick back. I ve been having more success and have been sacked less than usual.

It's funny because i kill our staff for playing conservative, but it's how i win my games in madden. I always use the Jets. I pound it up the middle with Richardson. toss to the right with leon and run the middle with TJ. Mix in some play action deep or throw to keller to the outside, Works well a lot.

Get him drunk as hell beforehand, then unplug his controller when he isn't looking. By the time he sobers up, hopefully you'll already be ahead by 70 points. Good luck.

I'm finally getting my PS3 and Mad'09 this Friday. Wooo! Can't wait!

He was raised in CA. Anyhow thinx for the tips guys. I have been able to improve and win a few. Ball control mostly. The Eagles defense in this game is crazy good.

Against the CPU I usually pass to Keller, Smith or Henry

as said above...use your FB alot, not just for running

also, switch the packages frequently. On defense I do alot of changing with packages and subs and on the offense I sometimes put Jones outside as a WR.

Also, dont forget the new audible features...I tap of the right stick can change your play instantly to a play in the same formation that is either a run, deep pass, quick pass or play action so its useful to do this alot too if you spot holes in the defense...dont forget, your son can only play as one player at a time so the AI on the rest of his players are still vunerable to confusion, even if he can see your play art...they cant ;)

    hope this helps

oh, why we are at it...in franchise, trade HEAVY for Jay Cutler and train him up

MVP 2 years in a row
