Yes, the Jets literally missed the playoffs by one play. Which one is the most culpable? Since we all love to play the blame game, let's do it! Let me know if I missed one.
The Jets missed the playoffs because they went into Buffalo and played like absolute dogshit in the biggest game of the season, not because of any single play.
The question in the poll is which play DOOMED the season? That would have to be Fitzpatrick's 3rd INT in Buffalo. The season was dead. As for blaming a single play: Easily Devin Smith fumble. Jets win that game in many ways though, but that was the worst of that specific game. I choose that game because it was the most winnable.
I'm going with the horrendous 20 yard punt from our own end zone vs the bills. It set the tone for a day of awful mistake filled football for us.
easily fitz. none of the other plays mattered at that point. If he doesn't throw a pick, chances are we take the lead and win that game to get in
Even with all of those plays going against us, we were 1 game away from being in the playoffs. The worst play of that bunch was without a doubt the Devin Smith fumble.
Can I go with none of the above ,,,even though a few are horrific I still get queazy thinking about TJ Yates shredding us along with,,Hopkins bitch slapping Revis,,,,,you think the coaches would have learned something by that game and planned so much better on DEF for the Bills,,,,ugh
how about Brandon Marshall dropping the TD pass against the Cheats? we could have swept them, and that would've been enough to get in playoffs. Marshall also made a shitload of successful plays that put us in a position to get into the playoffs as well. but of course no one makes threads about that .. it doesn't come down to 1 play, positive or negative, across an entire season. it's the sum of all plays which matter.
Just have Kenbrell catch that last pass and we'd all be happy campers today after beating Cincy on Saturday.
