    1) Take him?

    2) Trade down with... say the Cowboys and get 2 first rounders (one in the low teens and the other in the high twenties) and a 3rd.

Tough decision, but I think I would trade down.

Yes, time to get a stud skilled position player on offense.

Why the hell would the Cowboys trade up for a running back when they have two very capable RB's in Barber and Jones.

Unless the Jets plan on releasing Jones then no, we shouldn't draft him.

We MUST either get our Franchise QB (Assuming Clemens plays and doesn't look good.)

Or we must get a pass rush specialist...

It's almost like Reggie Bush all over again, if we're sitting there anywhere from 1-5 and he is there, we need to take him, and unlike with Reggie, there are no questions about his ability to be a 25 carry-a-game back.

Not trying to make you believe otherwise, but do you actually see the Jets taking a RB when they have HUGE holes to fill on the defensive side of the ball?

I don't think the Jets are in position to take McFadden...maybe in the 2009 draft.

We need to work on the lines and make sure that we get someone to put some pressure on the damn qb.

If there are any 3-4 OLB's like Merrimen, Ware, or Porter...we need to take him.

We took a CB when we had those same holes and gave up half our draft in the process so anything is possible with this team.

we have 2 weapons on Offense right now. We need to give Clemens more than that to have sucsess in the future. And Jones will be 29 next year. Yes, if we?re in position i take him! I think we can find good Passrushers and OL in the early 2nd and 3rd round or even a Diamond in the rough on day 2. There?s no way we fix all the problems we have right now on one Draft, so if i can get a weapon like him, i take him, fill all the holes i can and fill the rest next year.

I would only trade down, if there?s a Stud 340+ pound NT in the mid 1st.

Julius Jones's contract is up and they have very few holes.

If we're picking from around 5-7 it would be a great pick up

I definitely trade down. I don't know if I specifically like that deal inparticular, I would only want to trade to the mid-teens at the LOWEST while gaining perhaps a 2nd rounder, but we have a ton of holes and we spent a 2nd rounder last year on a RB (Jones). The 2009 crop of running backs is strong as well, so worst case scenario, we can get one of them next year. But this year, we need to fill our holes (which we have many of) rather than look at a position were we already have a very, very solid starter.

  15. Yes, we have specific needs..but we are in no position as a franchise to pass on an elite prospect. McFadden IS an elite prospect, and maybe the most complete RB prospect since Tomlinson.

The OL position is very deep this year, and frankly no first round DL w/ the exception of Chris Long really fits the 3-4 scheme...and he isnt in the same class as Mcfadden as a prospect.

If we can theoretically trade down for some high ransom like a 1 this year and next and a 2 this year, it would be an interesting proposition. Having extra picks to build our lines could be huge and we could even potentially end up with a RB prospect like Jonathon Stewart (Who is a beast).

The down side is that passing on a potential perrenial probowler would be a huge blow to the front office, something I don't think they would be able to do. The trade would need to set us up as a suberbowl contender for it to be worth it.

Would I rather have Mcfadden or a RT, DE, OG? I'm not sure to be honest, because drafts are crapshoots and very rarely is something a can't miss. If you are drafting that high, it would be foolish to take anyone they didn't think was a can't miss, and Mcfadden's probably the only one in that category who would also fit a relative need. Keep in mind Jones will be 30 next season.

I vote Mcfadden and pick up Gosder Cherilus, Barry Richardson, or Michael Oher in the early 2nd so that way he can actually have holes to run through. It would definately be nice to pick up defensive lineman for our system though.

Yes Long is by no way in the same league as Mcfadden, but Long does not fit the 3-4 scheme for us. The 3-4 at UVA is much different than the NFL. Long is about 270 lbs. We don't need another undersized lineman for our system. We'd be better suited taking a tall, athletic DT. Atleast they should be able to take up blockers.

Kurt....Derrick Harvey would be a good 3-4 OLB, ala Demarcus Ware. I'm not suggesting that Derrick Harvey is a top 5 player, he isn't close. If we trade down and pick up extra picks...Harvey is an option.

I agree McFadden is the choice in the Top 5............TJ and Mcfadden can share duties, at least for a short time, and Leon Washington can be our Faulk type player similar to the way N.E. uses him.

Aren't alot of you picking Groves as our "can't miss" guy? The more I read about him, the more I'd like to have the guy wearing green and white next year.

Trade down, get an elite OLB and build the O-line and D-line. A mauling RG and a better RT would make Leon and TJ look like superstars. Hopefully BJ Raji comes out and we can nab him in the 2nd or 3rd.
