If we re-sign Chad do you still think we should draft a QB in the first round?

    Chad's already signed.

Restructuring him and resigning are 2 different things and the distinction is huge.

Oh thank you very much. If we re-sign him or re-structure him to a cheaper deal. Should we draft a QB with our first round pick???

If we resign no, if we restructure yes.........just kidding

I don't think so. I think D'Brick or a top defender would be the best bet. I think the Jets in '06 will win games based on good defense & a running game. I like C-mart & Houston to have a year similar to C-mart & Jordan did in '04 if the O-line is strengthened. They would take a QB in the mid-rounds.

I hope that our new coach is smarter than trusting our future to a guy that can't make it through one season. Show Chad the door, or at least draft a QB of the future and demote CHad to #3 until he is healthy enough to be promoted to #2. Defenses know Chad can't throw the fast or deep ball and they play off the WRs to bait him. Just to get the ball 30 yards down field Chad has to put huge air under the ball. While other QBs can throw 60 yards Chad will struggle just for 40.

I don't think that we will, simply because it's looking like they can only get Chad down to about $5 million...that, compounded with a large investment in a Top 5-picked QB ties up much too much money into one position. If Chad is restructured, IMO, the best bet is to either draft D'Brick, Mario Williams, or trade down and pick up DeAngelo Williams.

It they keep Chad and don't draft a QB I'll be mad. If they do that and then sign an OT at #4 too, I might concider switching to the Giants.

If we keep Chad, that may be exactly what they do.

I was thinking we restructure Chad then we could pick up a QB in the 3rd round. I read were Chad was saying he felt fine. Do we have any updates to where his progress is? Can he definately not start this season? I haven't heard any of these issues in awhile.
