Absolutely couldn't believe this once I read it, it paints an incredibly grim picture for the future of this team. Only quoting select parts since its 3 pages

    http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...aum-trade-young-quarterback-article-1.1004395

Obviously everything is from anonymous sources so thats why I "if this is true" but the fact that the media is putting garbage out there like this (even if they dont name names) worries me. It surely wont help the future of Sanchez who imo has another 2-3 years to truly prove hes not a bust since weve seen what he can do when hes on

Most of the story is probably manufactured nonsense but losing causes everyone to second guess

Yeah, but he lost back to back AFC Championship games. That's pretty good company. Sanchez is among the Parthenon of greatness with such luminaries as Donnivan McNabb who lost back-to-back-to-back NFC championship games.

It's a 3 page article... post all of it man.

That said wow, that's one harsh article... and it comes from Manish who isn't an a-hole like Cimini, Vaccaro etc.

"We’re not the organization that players said they wanted to play for a year or two ago. We’re starting to come across a little flaky. We talk the talk. We don’t back it up. We’re out of control. There’s no discipline. It’s a mess right now.”

This was the most infuriating quote to me. Assuming this guy has been around for the whole Rex era he see's one bad year, talks about the lack of discipline and how much of a mess it is all while displaying his own lack of discipline by mouthing off anonymously.

I don't care who that is they don't belong on the team.

The complex game plans didn't help matters, according to several people. Sanchez had difficulty absorbing the weekly wrinkles and changes, teammates said.

“So many games, he looked defeated before he ever took the field,” a team source said. “He didn’t have much confidence in what he was about to go do. You could tell throughout the week in practice. He never felt comfortable with some of the things we were doing. It was too much for him.”

Here's why we need to run the ball.

This particular quote seems to be heavily sarcastic. Or is this emanating from the selfish player/s whom McElroy has suggested ruined team chemistry by being all about their stats and personal glory. Do I catch a whiff of those who think any chance of a ring in nthe next couple years is blown and want to get an essentially empty run on the back of ridiculous FA and future cap hell?

This is a Manish article though and he is normally on the ball. Very concerning

I'd be interested to know if he reveals how many players are quoted.

It seems odd that for 2 years all we heard was that Sanchez was working his ass off and now at the end of a bad year he is a lazy fuck.

Whoever gave these quotes without giving their name is a coward. How can you play for an organisation that is happy to let you speak your mind and then comment anonymously? Nothing but a coward.

The use of "we" points to the offensive line...

    UKK,

In several threads I have said that Mark appears to be arrogant in the aspect that he is all Hollywood despite not winning it all. I have stated that Mark needs to spend less time at the club/bar or chasing ass and more time training/film/game plan study. In some regards I am not surprised by this article at all.....

Seeing the article come from Manish gives it more credibility for me because he's not producing consistent garbage like Cimini. Going into a shell & not being challenged for the starter's position is something we've discussed on this board many times. Brunell as a 3rd string is something I could accept but not as a backup. If Brunell is so helpful off the field then stop wasting a roster spot and just hire him as a coach or consultant.

Yet another complaint on who Rex chose as captains. Rex chose the captains based on who he wants to be leaders and not based on who were the character guys. Looks like it came back to bite him because it's been brought up in "anonymous" player criticism vs. Holmes & Sanchez.

Rex handling of this locker room turmoil is big because it'll not only determine his future w/ the Jets but his future with other teams if him and the Jets part ways. There are people who think you can't be too friendly with players and still get discipline. I'm actually thinking Rex handling of this locker room is going to affect his brother's chances of getting a HC job also since their personalities appear to be similar.

I wont bother getting into how much he goes out and his social life since I don't know much about it and neither does anyone else.

It doesn't add up that for 2 years of the team being successful every player asked praised his work ethic and drive to succeed. We never had anonymous players leaking dissatisfaction with how he handled himself. This year the team struggles and all of a sudden he is lazy? there has been a lot of lying happening no matter what side of the coin you believe.

Didn't he organize off-season workouts during the lockout?

    several things.

1.) the fact this was from Manish gave it much more credibility than Cimini instantly, and made is that much more alarming.

2.) despite that however, we don't know where the quotes came from. note that not every quote came from people inside the locker room, or rather players, necessarily. it could have been low level personnel people or other members of the organization. Their opinions matter a whole lot less than the guys on the field. many times throughout the article it's simply noted as a "jets source", with only leaving you to guess if it was a player or other jets employee.

3.) Either way you look at it, it's alarming and shows this team was divided and not on the same page. it also shows schotty's ineptitude to get the most out of his QB and give him a managable gameplan. even sanchez didn't even believe in what he was doing

"Jets source" can be much scarier than players depending on who that source is and where in the organization he works.

Yep. Lot of blame to go around. If the Jets were all on the same page, the reporters' stories would be about these anonymous players and coaches and personnel people blaming Schottenheimer. Instead, we have negative articles about Sanchez, Schotty and Santonio, all of it probably deserved.

That said, while Sanchez might not be that good right now, I doubt the people ripping him are involved in player development. Sanchez is still young, and quarterbacks take time to develop. Some develop faster than others. Some you wait for years to develop and they never do. Sanchez could go either way. There's probably more negative than positive, but he's done more than enough to keep the job into next year.

Either way, his success will ultimately determine how high this team's ceiling is.

no, it can't. unless it's tannenbaum or rex or pettine. you think any of those guys would be stupid enough to give fodder to beat writers? so that automatically eliminates them .no one who directly makes decisions was quoted in that article.

Sounds like the majority of the criticism is coming from the o-line. Which, if that's true, should be ignored since they are trying to shift the blame from themselves to Sanchez. They played like crap this year and I can see how it'd be tough to walk onto that field knowing that the guys blocking for you suck so badly you are going to get murdered every sunday.
