If the Jets are definitely going to take a QB (this is hypothetical, who knows what they will do), then what would you do, which scenario would you carry out if you were the Jets GM. Now remember, you have to take a QB, thats the hypothetical, so no scenarios stating "I would not take a QB anywhere in the draft, we do not need one." the rule is you have to draft a QB.
I would trade up for leinart. I would do this no matter what, but that's just me. My opinion hasn't changed.
I would do the same...if they are "hellbent" on a QB than Leinart is the safest option, but it will mean losing those additional draft picks.
I would stay at 4 and draft whoever is left. 1.Leinart 2.Cutler 3.Young. In that order. So if Cutler and Young are still on the board, I would take Cutler.
1. Leinart 2. Young If neither are available wait until the later rounds. Cutler is a couldn't win in college what makes you think he's gonna win in the pros??
Too early to tell still. Right now, I know what kind of money Leinart will command, and if Young and Cutler command the same or near the same amount, I would rather take Jacobs or Croyle in the 3rd round.
I still like the prospect of Young. I think that with a new O-line the combination of Ramsey and Young will work. Young will give us the mobility that is needed to get out of the pocket under pressue and still make something happen, while Ramsey has the ability to take the hit. I am really hoping that Pennington will be healthy and make a full comeback, but at the same time this is our best option at QB.
If the team feels that it absolutely has to find their franchise QB of the future, you do what it takes to land the best one out there, Leinart.
Right - the NFL has more complex offenses, defenses, and the players are faster breaking to the ball or chasing the QB. So again, please tell me why this guy is going to win in the pros if he couldn't win in college?
I agree with this...my fear is that Cutler may be just as good, or better in some ways..i guess its a risk either way. So at this point, go with the proven winner, Leinart.
I think we should trade down to no higher than #10. This way we have a decent chance of getting Cutler, and if not, we can get one of the elite players on D or Vernon Davis, or any other player that the FO thinks is worthy of top10.
i would definetly persue Leinart but if they didnt want to do it by any means i would go for v young, and be satisfied. As i stated earlier, there was talk of him being a possible #1 overall. Just because he did bad on a stupid test doesnt mean he cant play football. What would Terry Bradshaw have gotten on the wonderlic scrambling QBs are the future...the pocket QB is a dying breed look at who we have coming out of college in the next few years also in case no one has noticed this yet, I HATE CUTLER, i see no upside in drafting him whatsoever
