They will steal our thunder from SB III.

THey will be the new ultimate underdogs whom no one thought could win.
They will have upset the "18-0 greatest team of all time"
They will have pulled off the impossible
Some jackass (pierce) will probably make a gurantee for the SB
They will have the new biggest upset in SB history

    SB III will be forgotten.

    Our only claim to fame

Does anyone else not realize this?

    Let Eli "Guarantee" a victory...

And it'd be the biggest win in Sports history.

SBIII will never be 'forgotten' as it was more influential to the league than any other game in NFL/AFL history.....

Look, I realize the jets have a long way to go.... let's face reality.......but I HATE THOSE FUKIN PATRIOTS so much, that I feel if a new york team beats 'em in the SB, that's enough poetic justice for me..... I mean I HATE THOSE FUKERS.....I really do...... so let's all root for the Jints!!!!!!!!

Come on man, Super Bowl III would never be forgotten. Nobody from this game is going to be as iconic as Broadway Joe. This game would never have that big an impact. SBIII legitimized an entire league.

Don't overreact. Nothing can displace SBIII. There's room on the mantle.

I doubt this game will be a 16 point spread like Super Bowl III was. And Eli won't garuntee victory, so the 68' Jets' legacy would be safe IF the Giants won.

You don't think the NY media would explode all over this and never let us forget it?

The opening line is Pats -13. The Jets were 16 point dogs, weren't they?

I really think SBIII will be placed on the backseat if the Giants beat NE.

Still, I'm going to pull for the Giants to win. I can deal with the Giants winning, it won't be easy, but I will be able to stand it.

They were anywhere from 17-22 depending on the sportsbook.

SB III will NEVER EVER EVER be forgotten because without that win, the NFL wont be the same as the AFC took some control over the NFC at that time. That was the turning point for the entire AFC conference to gather respect when they took down the big bad Unitas led Colts.

Thats why it was such an epic win in NFL history.

I agree with that. I've already seen these teams go a combined 5-3 in Super Bowls. Is 6-4 two weeks from now really going to make a difference?

In two weeks time, I'll be able to say that nine of the 24 Super Bowls I've watched had at least one of these teams playing in the game.

This is why I sometimes hate sports. I wish my dad would have steered me towards some other teams other than the Knicks, Jets, and Mets. At least Arsenal gave me an EPL championship in 04

You're telling me. If it wasn't for my brother I would have been a giants fan Long ago in '86. There's no turning back now though. We just have to maintain our hopes of reaching the Superbowl in the near future. It sucks to watch the 2 teams that made it, but after thinking it through, and reading some posts, I've decided since I am a die hard Yankees fan, that their is no way in hell that I will root for a Boston team, to beat a New York team, even if it is the Jints. I don't wish for Boston fans to have that satisfaction. I'll be pulling for the Giants for this Superbowl, and hopefully next year the Jets will end the season with a much better result.

If the Giants win order in the world will be restored and Boston will be known as the city with the biggest failure in sports history. Forget GYC the Pats losing to the Giants would go down as the biggest failure in sports history and Boston will go back to being irrelavent like it was 10 years ago. A Giant victory is a sacrifice for a greater good......

I don't see it. The Giants ran the Pats close enough in Week 17 to suggest they're not rank outsiders here.
