becuase their are rumors flying around that this thing is going to get done. Players realized that they arent going to get paid in this uncapped year. The NFL is making them understand they will be able to make more money with a capped year. I think the CBA is going to get done and we will have a capped year

Well, there are facts flying around that TGG's Search option can work miracles.

Bummer. I'd love to see a new CBA hammered out. I just have heard every report to the contrary so far.

Wouldn't this be a disaster for us (we have RFA that would become UFA and with Revis, Mangold, Harris and Brick up for extensions we can't afford all these players)?

No...we're going to have to deal with Leon and Braylon next year regardless of those other guys...and we'd have no restrictions with extending the rookie contracts, so it would really be better for us.

We don't need to extend Revis yet, and we'd be perfectly fine extending the other 3. We would take care of Mangold and Harris this year, Brick next year, and Revis either next year or in 2012.

The biggest problem would be the contract headaches for Edwards and Washington as you stated.

That is the predicament that every team is facing - there are like 250+ RFAs around the league - which is EXACTLY why the owners won't agree to a new CBA before tomorrow.

the rumor was the NFLPA tried a last ditch effort to ask the Owners for an extension on this years CBA.

    The owners said, "fuck no"

Look for the owners to have the players by the balls during the heat of the negotiation. I feel bad for the players, its not going to be a fair fight.

If a new CBA gets done, which is extremely unlikely, how the hell would anyone on TGG know the terms of it?

Thank you dude, the guy bashes the thread right away, but we actually have a pretty good discussion going on it right now. He waits for me to make a thread, and immediately shoots it down. I agree very annoying

MLB has made their own bed and now they have to lie in it. I'm actually much more sympathetic to the NFL players than to the MLB group. NFL players actually do something that is taxing on the body, causes lifelong health problems and leads to premature death. MLB players have a vacation in comparison and they get guaranteed contracts to boot.

Every NFL starting player should have his contract guaranteed after he has started a majority of the games in any season of it.

Its cool...you're fairly new so some guys are going to go after you no matter what...hazing I guess. Anyway, your best bet is to try to put anything you can in an already existing thread. Unless its something totally new that hasnt been discussed previously. I'm pretty sure someone would have answered your question eventually. Personally, I dont give shit...its an internet message board, there are bigger things to get bitchy about.

If a CBA deal gets done it'll depend on what the deal is, but my guess would be that there would not be restrictions in place for teams to sign Free Agents.

I would love to see some links regarding them getting close to signing a new CBA.
