All of the AFC teams, deemed contenders look shaky. San Diego - should be 0-2 Ravens - their defense is definitely not Rex's New England - should be 0-2 Pitt - 1-1 after losing to the Bears Indy - Yet to play. Tenn - defense is definitely not as good as originally thought. Sanchez is showing the poise of a veteran QB out there. He made some excellent throws today in tight coverage. If you are a Jet fan, it is so exciting to see this caliber play from a kid so young. Sanchez has gotten better every week and there is no indication he will not improve from week to week. The true test will be keeping the defense healthy and in that, the offense needs to stay on the field longer. Thomas Jones, is running horribly and needs to get his stuff together.
It's too early to crown anybody. Teams will start to separate themselves from the rest of the pack after week 5-6.
i think if we can stop chris johnson we should have no problem with the titans. i think we will really truly know if we have a legendary defense when we face drew brees
The Ravens look great, their D is great too. I put the Ravens and Steelers ahead of the Jets at this moment.
Sanchez's best play today was a sack. I'm serious. He was so fucking smart to take that sack! You could tell he was itching, just itching to hurl that ball. If he had, it would have come out crooked and may have been picked. If it hadn't been picked, it probably would've fallen incomplete and stopped the clock. Instead, Sanchez makes a veteran move tucking that ball and taking a sack, moving the game to the two minute warning. This kid is going to be great.
ravens D looks anything but great. its like there in a cross roads where there defense is giving up more points then ever but they are also scoring more points then ever.
If the jets can't swing it, I say Chargers. Even though I'm not a fan. Who knows, maybe the Raiders. If the jets don't win it, I don't care.
When he was looking like he was going to throw it I was screaming DON'T! DON'T! And he didn't and it was awesome.
We all know the season is long and momentum can swing up and down. Last year's Jets didn't look this crisp out of the gate and that team wasn't bad at all
Gotta agree. I loved that play. I was screwming "Don't Throw it!" Heads up play by the Kid. Our Ex Cheese head lets that fly every time. I'm happy as hell with Sanchez at this point. he's going to be a very good one.
The season is def. still early and I wouldn't be quite ready to annoint the Jets the class of the AFC, but we have seen enough football to start getting excited. The Chargers and the Ravens did not look necessarily good today. Both defenses played poor, Rivers passed for a ton of yards, but made a bunch of mistakes as well, throwing two picks and not showing the poise needed when the game was on the line. Pitt/Tenn/Houston all have not looked dominant either like was predicted earlier this season. We'll see how Indy looks tomorrow, but I don't think the top AFC teams from the past couple years (Pitt/NE/Indy/SD) are as strong as they used to, and a couple more games like we have had the last 2 weeks, the Jets could very well be the team to beat. Again I am def. saying this is early speculation, but hell, why can't it be true?
It's a long season. 2 weeks does not a season make. That said, the Jets' D looks awesome so far without there #1 pass rusher, and the offense appears ahead of schedule with the rookie. So far, so good. Viva La Sanchez!
the jets have been the most impressive team in the NFL to this point in my opinion. the defense is suffocating. they shut down the 3rd ranked offense from last season and now the Pats. it's early but no one can knock what we did or who we beat. you can't even use the texans excuse anymore because they ran up and down the field against a good tennesssee defense.
