if mangold is gone before jets pick at 29. I would look at ryan cook a center from new mexico who is huge at 335 lbs. and about 6 foot five and said to be one of the strongestplayers in the draft.I am sure he can be had in third round where the jets have two picks.

There are quite a few good OL players in this draft, so is it really necessary to spend the #4 pick on a Offensive Lineman ?

A gamebreaker/playmaker is a much better option at #4. New England didn't have any high draft picks in there OL & they played well as a unit ?

Thats why I would go for Ngata, Mario Williams, or Vince Young. Otherwise, I trade down. Bush will be gone !

    Young ....If available at #4...Is a no-brainer.

If mangold is gone at 29, we can draft the next best OL, which would probably be a OT, then we can draft eslinger.

He is talking about the 29th pick not the 4th, and I would go BPA

If Mangold is gone I would go for Maroney, Manny Lawson, Eric Winston, Marcus McNeil, Gabe Watson....In that order.

If you don't get Mangold, Eslinger is the guy. Minnesota had a very good blocking scheme and Eslinger was a big part of that. He hustles, he's tough, and he's fundamentally and technically sound. Oversized lineman like Cook can be a liability, and I think it's more beneficial to go with smart, mobile guys like they do out in Denver. The bigger guys like Cook, who may even project to the outside, really limit the schemes you can run.

I've never watched Eslinger play, but I read Eslinger would be a good C in a zone blocking scheme and isn't a mauler type. Any opinion on that?

I like eslinger as well but not with the #29 pick. I would take him with the 2nd round pick but he will probably last until the 3rd.
Rambo13 had some good choices for that pick if Mangold is gone. I do think that McNeil and Winston will be gone as well though.
TB will pick one of those three with their #1 pick guaranteed.

Eslinger has been compared a bit to Mawae. He wont knock many guys to the ground but can move them well and is also fast enough to pull.

I would say bobby carpenter or BPA at the position we need the most help in. Then again this is all redundant, we all pretty much know who we would like at 29 lets just hope the player is there when we draft.

It depand on who we get at #4, If we get D'brick the we go with Lawson if we get lucky and get Williams or Hawk then we would go with the best oline still there like Jean-Gilles, Degory, or Justice

I've never seen so many fans clamoring for a C. When was the last dominant C drafted in the first round?? Exactly.. I think we will be targeting an OLB at pick 29 even if Mangold is on the board.. This place is gonna explode with negativity if the Jets pass on mangold, I'm looking foward to that..

Certainly, I would wait until round 3 to take Eslinger. I probably should have clarified that in my initial post. While he's on the smaller side, you have to like the way Minnesota has run the ball with relative ease, and I think that the trend is going to be towards smaller lineman anyway. I find him similar to Mawae and a second tier Mangold-esque player. I value his maturity as well as Minnesota's excellent achievement in the run game.
