Winston Mariota Fowler Cooper Beasley How would you feel if they took Andrus Peat at 6? Ideally you'd trade down but if you can't find a deal?
I wouldn't mind taking Peat but not at 6th. In that scenario there should be people calling to trade up to Williams so you trade back and take Peat if he's available there.
I don't like Peat at all. I like (in no order) Flowers, Scherff, Collins, and Humphries more than I like Peat. If that situation happens and we take Peat, I will blow up Florham Park. If the Jets truly like Peat, it would be inexcusable to not trade down before taking him. Especially with arguably the best player in the draft (Williams) on the board.
Not at #6. I'd either trade back so another team could take Williams or I'd stay put and take White. No way I'd take Peat at #6, and Mac better not, either.
Peat is barely a top 20 prospect, if you are going to reach then reach for a WR or RB, somebody that can help you score some points.
No not at 6, trade down or take Williams or White. If they did, I would restrain myself from blowing up Florham Park...
In this scenario I would be okay if the Jets did any of the following: a) Try to trade down, b/c someone will want Williams b) Take Williams because he's BPA; or c) Take White
As others have mentioned, if Leonard Williams falls to 6, I'm sure there will be some very solid trade down options because he seems to be viewed as one of, if not the, best players in the draft by some. I'd be disappointed if the top 5 plays out this way and they don't secure a trade down.
i've been saying it for awhile now....Peat would be my pick if Mariota, Cooper and Fowler are off the board. He's the best LT prospect by far in this draft, and i believe he can play RT in the interim. If he stays in school one more year, he's a top 5 prospect. If Williams is there, I'd try to trade down a pick or two to add extra value. don't believe Peat will get by the Giants and Rams tho, so wouldn't trade too far down unless it was a very good offer.
