because he cannot handle blitzes and goes into his shell like a sissy girl, will the majority of people here see this is as the player he really is and start pushing for Clemens to come in against Baltimore for week 2? Not that this is our call but just for the sake of arguemnt, do we as gang green members, just throw in the towel on chad or give him another chance?

No, they will blame it on the O-line and remind us about how all he does is win.

edit: I hope he just throws 5 TD passes though.

If Chad plays bad week 1 vs. New England, I doubt any sane person would want to throw Clemens into the fire on the road vs. the Baltimore defense.

No Clemens in wk 2, it would be way too early.

Too many people panicking over preseason play, lets wait and see what chad does in wk 1.

Yeah, I think one loss justifies canning the whole season's plan and putting it all in the hands of an untested rookie...

geeze, I'm SO glad that fans are not running the organization

Me too. They would make Herm look good, and that is hard to do.

Before we forget, last season there were fifteen QBs that played worse than Chad even though he couldn't make all the throws with his bad shoulder. And he didn't get any help from the running game either. Did he win an award last year?

If Chad beats NE and the Ravens, are all of you going to agree that Chad is right for the Jets? = much better question.

No. Penny has got until week 4 to make things happen. After that its fair game.. and i'm talking about him going 0-4. if he wins one of those games he gets to stay no ifs ands or buts...

And if he has a good game against NE, could we dispense with the nonsensical threads on Chad? Your thread has no basis on reality.

Do you guys even WATCH football ?

Pennington, off 2 shoulder surgeries, and with ZERO running game, was a TOP10 QB last year.

This year, minus the Kendall distraction, (Bender will be an UPGRADE in the power game), have the legitimate pieces in place to go over 4.0 a carry on the ground this year.

for all the BS about Brady, in ANY season, he barely grades out even with Pennington.

The difference in these two teams has been OL/DL.

We have made enough improvements from last year to this, to Compete for a division title.

    Here's the challenge.

All of the whiners, naysayers, and scatmunchers, put their doom and gloom predictions in their sigs....so that when we are better than last years 10-6, you'll be on the record week in and week out.

That makes SOOOOOOO much sense. If Chad has a bad game against one of the best defenses in the league we should all just give up on him and throw a 2nd year QB with virtually no playing experience in against another top defense. Not to mention, this team is built to win now. If Tannenbaum didnt see that, he wouldnt have traded a 2nd rounder for Jones. This is NOT a rebuilding year!

And if Chad shreds the NE secondary like scissors to paper, will you finally give him some credit, or will you just say it was a fluke and wait for him to have a bad game? I'm guessing the latter. After all, this site needs more "bench Chad" threads.

When was the last game that Chad shredded any secondary like scissors to paper?

Technically it still is, but due to the rapid development of our draft picks and a coaching staff that is quite brilliant- it doesn't seem like one.

Sorry, i'm playing devil's advocate, but i agree with you.
