If we are going to make a move at the trading deadline we need to move Vilma. We can still get max value for him now. If we wait until after the season his value will be lost due to the 3-4. We only have 2 days left, but I would imagine there would be a buyer out there.

It's unnecessary... Vilma is still playing very well when he's in space....

At this rate, Mangini won't be here next year, we'll have a new HC, hopefully return to the 4-3, and Vilma will be back in the Pro Bowl

We will not have a new coach next year so get that out of your head ASAP.

If the Jets collapse continues we'll have a new head coach next year. This is not a league that tolerates excessive losing at this point. 3 wins or less generally buys you a ticket out the door. It used to be that you got a few years back to back at that level before you got fired, but now it's rare to survive a single season that bad unless Matt Millen is your GM.

Mangini will be back next year unless we're getting embarassed down the stretch.

This team, with this schedule, will be lucky to win 4 games.. And A LOT of that falls on Mangini...

If we win 3 or 4 games this year, I'd say there's a 70% chance Mangini is gone next season

So we trade a proven player and potential all-star for a chance to pick 2 unproven players? Right.

Yes...Especially when the proven player DOES NOT fit your system. You get what you can for them. Why is that so hard to understand for so many people?

Trades of impact players mid-season are never going to happen anymore IMHO

Trading Vilma right now would be very short-sighted. The current regime is on thin ice and the temperature's rising all around them. If the next regime is 4-3 oriented we will greatly regret sending Vilma out of town on the cheap.

All this trading Vilma talk is ridiculous. He played well today and actually provides a spark when he hits people. There are plently of guys who would NEVER even start on other teams (Barrett, Bryan Thomas, Hobson, Barton, Kenyon Coleman). We have so many defensive holes and are playing in a scheme which sucks with the wrong players. Time to switch back to the 4-3 and watch Vilma dominate again.

Vilma has been playing better. I'd keep him.

You are certifiable if you believe this post. Mangini took a team that everyone thought would suck ass last year to the playoffs. That has easily bought him at least 3 straight losing seasons before a firing.

Vilma has been playing well, these trade everyone for draft picks threads are driving me nuts. First before the season it was Vilma, then CP even though he has 0 value, then before today it was TJ because he was "wasted" behind our pathetic OL, now that he played great today would you trade him? no. Vilma is still our best LB people. You don't trade your best player at any position for a draft pick, especially mid-season when you cant go find a replacement. Let the trade everyone threads please die now.
