Jets trade our 1st (18 overall), 2nd (52nd) and 7th (21) for the Giants 1st (29 overall) and their Giants first 2nd round pick (45 overall). The Giants move up and would be able to get the 3rd best LB be it Laurinaitis or Cushing or if a WR like Nicks shoots up the board get someone like him while only moving down 7 spots in the 2nd round. The Jets meanwhile move up in the 2nd round and put them in a great position to improve their defense. In this scenario I would take Tyson Jackson in the first round who is a much better pick at 29 then 18 and Louis Delmas in the 2nd, a great safety project who I don't think will be around come the 52nd pick.
The Jets move down 11 spots in the first round and give up a 7th in exchange for moving up 7 spots in the second round? Um. No.
I think the better question is if you proposed this trade is if you discussed it over bong or vaporizer. To steal from Longtime Yes! Get it done Woody!
Seconded. Plus we have the 17th overall pick. If anything, it should be the Giants' first, second, and either a future 2nd or 3rd (or 2009 3rd or 4th) for our first 2 picks.
File this under exhibit A as to why you shouldn't post while your in class. My bad. I originally meant to include we'd get the Giants other 2nd rounder also, however I did the math wrong so that would have us getting too much of an advantage according to the draft chart. However this could work if the Giants were to include a 2nd rounder next year or a 3rd and 5th maybe this year.
