For anyone who has Sirius, I am sure you are familiar with The Afternoon Blitz on NFL Radio. Well as you probably know, Wednesdays are "Email" Wednesday, and this football season the top 4 emails every week receive a free G3 jacket with the team and size of their choice. So, I sent an email from my office Wednesday afternoon and Friday when I got to work in the morning I had a message from Nick Pavlatos, the Senior Programming Director of NFL Radio, telling me my email had been one of the top 4, so I am a jacket winner.....pretty sweet....now I guess I have to wait for a voucher to order the team and size online.....its nice to get something for free considering that I spend so damn much on Jets stuff...
I told them that this week my email had nothing to do with a particular team...I work an hour away and call in to the show on my cell quite often but am on hold alot, but its an 800 number so I save myself the long distance cost...what I did not remember in my stupidity is that I am still using up cell phone airtime, and the afternoon commute is still during prime hours....so, all the time I was only hold for this radio show was far exceeding my daytime phone minutes, and I unknowingly ran up a ridiculous...and I mean ridiculous, cell phone bill. I explained this in the email and said something along the lines of "so there's my dedication to remaining a member of the Afternoon Blitz family" along with a crack about getting on the "NFL Radio Frequent Callers Plan"....that was bout it...so I guess they rewarded my ignorance/stupidity...
