We threw Belichik one curve ball by unleashing Keller tonight. Perhaps it was the one weapon that the Pats did not account for. And they couldnt account for it all night long.
I agree. CS was fine. D played too loose in 2nd half -- but it is what it is -- which is a win. I was thinking after Moss scored -- which of the jet losses would have been worse. I thought that the Pitt Playofff loss would have topped this -- not sure if other reg season losses would have (although there have been contenders).
Just as we were limited with our former QB, we are limited with the CS. That's just a fact at this point.
The 3rd and 2 to end the game, we run it up the butt and get stuffed: I knew NE was gonna come back and score. D'Brick played well, Keller played great except for the drop in the end zone (which he would have been killed for), Favre played well. Thank God we won.
The coaching in the 3rd quarter - the playcalling, the way that Mangini sent the vibe out to the whole team that he was scared to lose - was awful. That being said, he let Farve make the throws at the end and it is a great win.
I'll give them credit for coming out with a mission and doing exactly what was needed for 90% of the first half, but everything from there up until our final offensive drive was terrible and I hate the prevent D. Everything in OT was great though.
The only problem with the CS is the prevent D. You can't say you were taken off guard by the fact that our secondary isn't great. Not terrible but not great. Shit happens. We won.
FIRE SUTTON. Mangini needs to grow a pair and get this done. Boob Sutton should be coaching Pop Warner
Wow. You've gotta be kidding. This is seriously the worst coaching staff in the league. If Belichick was coaching the Jets, they would've won by 25. The start of everything: they get the ball back after stopping the Pats on 4th down...huge play...then they get that false start on the next drive to set up the 3rd and 14...and boom, they run. From this point on, they told their players they were scared to lose. Period, end of story. The Pats manhandle us from this point on....my god, if Watson doesn't fumble and Cassel doesn't wildly overthrow Moss, the Pats win by 10. Pathetic, pathetic coaching staff.
How stupid is that comment ? If you don't learn from mistakes, even in victory, you won't win championships. The CS turtled up and sucked in the 3rd quarter. Then they blew it again with the "pre-vent defense" on the last drive. Unless the CS starts to play for blood for 60 minutes, this team won't last in the playoffs. Thanks to Favre and Keller for saving our asses.
I think the Jets coaches give too much credit to the teams that are tough. The Rams game they played exactly the way they should... the Patriots game, they have Pace in coverage most of the game? WTF? They deserve all the credit in the world for pulling this one out but excuse me for not having confidence in their gameplanning. They do a lot of things right and a lot of things wrong and all I want to see is consistency on the positive side.
