What a silly concept. Each loss is a loss and each one has the same impact at this stage.
Good thing you told us that in pre-season though.

No, it was clear going in, that on the short week they could steal that game.

It would have put them up in the division, and changed the dynamic going forward.

    Each loss is not equal.

Beating the Pats twice, changes the dynamic of how the other teams react inside the division.

All losses are not equal. Not ever.

When you turn it over, in scoring range 3 times, in a 3 point game...it looms larger.

Okay so let's play that game.

The Pats would've STILL clinched the AFC east even if we swept them this year.

We'd be 8-7 right now. And we'd still need help to make the playoffs.

Not nearly as big as those losses to Pittsburgh or Miami or Baltimore are.

As big as the loss to CIN, PITT, MIA, BAL, and BUF.

Yeah because we all saw how well this team and division responded after beating the Pats in the second game, which still put us in a prime position to challenge. In case you don't remember, we laid an egg in Cincy, then we tanked against the Bills when we still could make some noise.

Week 2 meant nothing more than any other loss.

Imagine if we showed up after the bye week! Man that would have been sweet.

Whats ifs at this part of the season are exercises in futility.

We had 14 games to make it up, what a silly way to view a loss.

Division losses and wins are more important than other losses and wins outside your division. I agree.

But us beating the Pats twice doesn't effect how the Dolphins for example play against anyone else.

What's that supposed to mean, the Dolphins would have cowered in a corner shivering and crying out for mommy because we beat the Pats twice? There's no way the Pats would have collapsed. We still had to deal with the Steelers/Ravens/Chargers to make the playoffs.

Besides if we're playing the what-if game maybe we don't beat them the second time if we do beat them the first time, if you're going to talk about changing the dynamic - god knows this team didn't handle prosperity well at ANY point this year. And there's a reason the Pats haven't been swept by an AFC East team in forever.

The Buffalo loss is the one that hurts the most. Coming off a bye week and getting smacked, none the less by the Bills. With that win we could be playing to get in today. It's easy to say that now, but the Titans loss hurts just as much especially considering they're not a very good football team.
