The new big factor is O'brien getting the job in Houston. They need a QB, no doubt. O'brien profle is big pocket QB's. So I don't see Bridgewater at 195lbs or Johnny football's style fitting. So I believe Bortles will emerge as the first pick. O'brien saw him close up when UCF beat Penn State

Coaches still don't pick the players.

Most GMs have final say on drafting players, but a Head Coach like Bill O'Brien will be very involved in the process. O'Brien is a very strong willed individual that likes to have control of his team.

I also think the process is way too early, let's wait and see if a few of the QBs will declare.

I don't think it's safe to say which kind of Quarterback Bill O'Brien prefers just yet. In New England he was given Tom Brady to work with, his two Quarterbacks at Penn State were either the incumbent (Matt McGloin) or already recruited (Christian Hackenburg).

Not saying that this means Houston/O'Brien are a lock to draft Teddy Bridgewater... just that it's too early to determine O'Brien's preference.

And although Bridgewater isn't huge, he's got good height. He just needs to be able to add more weight and keep it on. Teddy's from a pro-style offense, he just happens to be able to run/scramble when necessary.

Interesting. Stranger things have happened. Bridgewater and Manziel have yet to declare.

If they both stay in school I think we'd be in prime position to get one of them in 2015.

Its an interesting topic because it comes down to how highly Teddy Bridgewater gets evaluated by the Texans. O'Brien may be a fan of Bortles too, but certainly there will be huge interest in the state of Texas to bring home their most beloved son... (despite the fact that Johnny doesnt fit Obrien's mold either).

Can you imagine Johnny Football QBing the Texans? They could prob draft Bridgewater and (if they don't love him) pull a River-Eli move with someone and get some extra picks while thrilling their fan base.

Why/how would that be? With the talent the Jets add via FA and the draft, if Rex is the HC that most on this site think he is, there is no way the Jets would be in any position to draft one of the top QBs. They'd have to trade a slew of picks to move up, and that just doesn't sound like Idzik.
