I don't suffer any illusions about the Red Sox being the only clean team in the majors. I suspect everyone and excuse no one. Whether or not on my team. This was his quote of a couple years back: Plain and simple, I don't believe ANY athlete who claims ignorance about the sorts of things they're putting in their bodies. It wouldn't surprise me if he's on the 2003 list and, knowing that, created the back-story of ignorance about what was in his protein shakes. Five years later, that no longer flies.
Let me tell you, Papi's butt had better be squeaky clean after the way he's shot off his mouth about steroid users.
Something tells me the only thing Schilling might have injected himself with was Twinkie cream filling.
come on, even when the mitchell report came out, we had donnelly and gagne on the roster. plus ortiz just said he wants more random testing... you don't think he's randomly trying to outsmart the MLB because he's secretely taking roids
Ortiz is a no brainer as far as I'm concerned, he was the Big Nobody in Minny and all of a sudden he becomes BIG Papi overnight in Boston? Who cares? Everyone was on steroids during that time, lets move on already.
You do know that he had 2 seasons in the minors where he hit .315+ with 30+ HR and 110+ RBI right? And that while he was in Minnesota not only did he have wrist and knee injuries but Gardenhire was also trying to make him a slap hitter? I'm not saying he definitely didn't use anything, but this "Ortiz came out of nowhere" stuff just simply isn't true.
Am I really supposed to care about his minor league numbers? There is a pretty big difference in his first 6 years in the majors to his last 6 years in the majors. I don't think it is a stretch at all to say he was a nobody before he came to Boston.
You know what? I guess during last year, you really got on my last nerves and I couldnt stand you (As a baseball fan) but you know what? Your not so bad and I enjoy how you back up your points with stats... In [BASEBALL] you really cant argue 'Stats", maybe in other sports, but not baseball. Didnt the Red Sox get another pitcher from Japan or somewhere this offseason? Is he on the level of a Dice-K?
Maybe it's because the Twins were never known as a "Power-House" All Im saying is this, if a player like Carl Crawford were a Yankee for all of these years, he would be a superstar in the eyes of many but he plays for the Rays and gets over looked by alot of people when in my eyes...He's the best defensive left fielder in the game today and can steal base with the best of em...His stolen base % is actually better than Ricky Henderson and he's also one of the youngest players to EVER reach 1,000 base hits. If Jeter were the SS of the Rays since 1998, would he be a superstar? Prolly not.
Lets also remember that there is still no test for HGH, which I believe is still being used by plenty of pro's. Any player who has been injured would probably use it to heal quicker and return to the field. Vision is right thought about everyone using back then just like amphetamines before that and who knows what else. Lets move on a play some ball already.
Why not. It shows who here is genius, and who is arrogant ass in denial. Sounds like a clever idea to me ACS.
I C WUT U DID THAR. URE CLEVER TOO! For the record, I never said he wasn't on juice, I just said he was fat.
