Because he's that good.. no but seriously...get used to, "Favre looking deep...throws to Cotchery- TOUCHDOWN JETS!!!" :jets::jets::jets:
Congrats Jets fans on winning the Brett Favre sweepstakes. I'm a Falcons fan and have always been high on Favre since he was drafted by us and put into the Jerry Glanville 'Doghouse' years ago. I like the signings and moves the Jets have made in the offseason this past year and the addition of Favre will at least make you guys competitive again (I forget what that's like myself...) this year. Cotchery should have a great year with the ol' 'gunslinger' at the helm but you also have to realize that Favre's pretty good at making completions to the defense as well. At least you guys have a bonafide, future HoF QB going behind center which is something that my favorite team lacks for the time being. At least we do have someone that I do believe will do wonders for us if we ever get an offensive line that's not loaded with 'turnstiles', and we're in dire need of defensive tackles. I still look forward to an exciting season and I look forward to seeing the Jets raise their level of play this year as well. I've been a fan of the J-E-T-S since Broadway Joe Namath took them to what I still consider the biggest upset in all of football in Super Bowl III. Now you have "Broadway Brett" Favre to potentially take you back into the playoffs. Just make sure that you all keep him off the pills and good luck this season!
Cotchery will have a career year and I predict Stuckey will have a great season. Stuckey's got the kind of hands that can hold onto a Favre pass and he's got the speed and juking to make something of it after the catch, just like Cotch can do. Both of these guys will emerge in this passing game. As for Coles, his career is winding down. I'm concerned that he's one good hit away from a concussion, which is a good reason for us to have other WRs in camp, like Brad Smith, Clowney, Ball, Wright, Henry and Raymond.
Didn't want to start a new thread but here's JC picking up his new Bentley... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2BCmrU9zH8
This season, I would predict similar numbers to what he posted in '07, but with more TDs. I would guess in the 6-8 range.
Bold prediction…first time we’ve had a quarterback in seven years and you think the receivers might benefit?
I'm thinking if Cotch stays healthy (as does Favre)...he could have a 1200 yard season with at least 8 - 10 TD's.....the potential is there for sure.
I'm feelin' pretty bold today  I mean...Cotch had over a 1000 yards last season....with subpar QB play and a turnstile o-line....plus he was fighting double-coverages for a few games that Coles was out.
The only problem is that everyone SHOULD have a better year. Coles, if healthy, will take away some of Cotch's balls (that doesn't sound right...haha). The improved tight end situation will also take some catches away from the WRs, not to mention a good number of TDs. I don't know if we'll still see the 1 yard line fade to the WRs as often anymore. Also, with the revamped o-line, hopefully Jones / Washington get some things done on the ground.
all good points. For some reason, i envision Cotch as Favre's version of Greg Jennings....he's gonna get a tonne of YAC this year...i can feel it.
If Favre's first couple of practices in green & white are any prediction, I think you're right. I've heard that he hit him on two beauties on go routes this morning.
yep...i read the same report..it sounds encouraging..hopefully Cotch doesn't get a case of the "dropsies" like he did last year though.... EDIT: Although....he'll never be as bad as JMAC.....*cringes*
I totally agree. Question is was Coles injury-riddled, down year an aberration or indicative of decline? Cotch could have already moved into that #1 WR territory without us knowing it. Coles will become much more of our own Hines Ward.
i feel ya...man. Btw i think if Cotch has a impact like Hines Ward did then i know we will have one successful year
