Eric Mangini on Saturday at the coach of the year clinic in Windsor, CT.It was awesome....he gave me an autograph on a piece of paper and a autographed hat. We talked for like 10 minutes and we talked about the jets. He mentioned how it was a poor season and i said that im patient and i know we are headed in the right direction....it was pretty cool, i asked him who we were looking at in the draft....he said he was very impressed with Merling, Sedrick Ellis and Vernon....i don't think he likes dmac very much.....which im glad....i think Mendenhall is the best running back in the draft or Stewart....dmac is only a sideline runner. Well pretty much, he knows what he is talking about and i believe this team is gonna be elite in a couple years....oh and i think he wants that pace guy....he threw some names out on free agency...he mentioned some oline but i think i only heard of one of them....i don't really remember because we were interrupted by Don Boscoe Prep's head coach at a meeting but it might have been BELL!! Pretty much, Eric is a really nice soft spoken man and even if you guys hate him, definitely seems like he knows what he is doing and we should be good in a year or two!!

Cool meeting... it must have been fun. I'm one who does not hate Mangini, BTW. Thanks for the input!

yea....it was such a cool experience, like we just talked football...he told me if i do good in college, football at wagner next year, go to his camp when i graduate lol....how sick is that!

  4. I live in windsor locks...and am a big fan of Mangini(Hartford native of course) and every year i say im gonna go to one of his CT events but never do. I'm gonna have to bite the bullet sooner rather than later.

Sweet deal man. I'm jealous. Like what was said above, looks like you got more info out of him than anyone in the media did last year.

I'm also really interested to see what Merling does at the combine, because he's a guy I could see rising up the boards. If he mentioned Bell that's a good sign too.

Really cool. If I could meet any three people from the Jets it would be Eric Mangini, Chad Pennington and Mike Tannenbaum in that order. Nice.

Yeah that sounds cool and I amazed he told you so much. The thing I loved about hearing about manini last year was before the KC game the practice before was all about fooling around and having fun before the season ended..I like that about him and I think it means a lot the players never stopped playing for him. He is a good guy and I really like Mangini we just need the right moves and some patience.

yea i am very lucky.....i saw some other coaches and players there too like the coach of the bills, is it dick jeron? and i saw players like ahmad bradshaw, the runningback from the giants....he is real small but muscular like a chode lol and he is really funny......but mangini, said it was nice to actually talk to a true fan for once instead of the media and he wanted my input so it was real cool

Dude, I envy you. You are so lucky. Congrats! He sounds like a cool guy. I see him as the face of the jets, for many years to come. I hope, and pray that he'll take us to the promise land. And I also have high hopes, and expectations for this upcoming season.

Signing Bell would be a huge advancement on our O-Line... Ellis, and Gholston are picks sitting at where we are, but Merling has shown top 15 talent not top 6... would that mean we are to trade down? If so i'm all for it, Merling could be as good as any other pass rushing OLB in the draft.

My question is...What was Eric Mangini doing at a coach of the year clinic?
