Did this thought just occur to you while you were taking a dump? Or did you have some kind of vision quest after toking on a peyote pipe?

Mangini had 2 winning seasons out of 3. Far from the worst performance in NYJ history... He also left the team with alot of pieces in place. He isn't a bad coach at all, just has a shitty ass attitude and way of dealing with players.

I'd still take Mangini over Herm if I had to choose one of them.

Some Jets fans are hilarious. Mangini was not nearly as bad as you say. In fact, he's a pretty damn good coach. He just needs to realize that the technical aspect of the game is only one part of it.

Seriously, this is just a ridiculous post.

^ Exactly. I'm glad we've turned the page, but Mangini did a lot of good things for this team.

His managing of the game went from good to bad to lousy over the 3 years. I never saw a coach get worse as time went on but last year, he might have managed the games worse then Herm.

Disagreed. Mangini atleast had some well coached games throughout his tenure. Herm was lousy start to finish, and often forgot what quarter it was.

play to win the game... going for it on 4th and 2 @ own 20 with 1:10 and 4 time outs... shows that everything he accomplished was despite him not because of him

6 pro bowlers. count them. playoffs?

Mangini produced the exact same shit. Only difference is he cleaned up Herm's mess which should be taken into consideration.

And if he wasn't so friggen stubborn , he may have utilized some of the better pieces Herm left behind. Mangini's biggest fault was trying to be Belicheck and not adapting to the team he had.

Who didn't he utilize? Cotchery wasn't given a shot til Mangini came. Leon, Mangold, Brick, Jenkins, Harris, Pace, Revis, Scott.... the entire core of this team is from the Tangini era for obvious reasons. Herm's boys were flushed out as quick as possible. Rhodes, Ellis and Moore are the only Herm era players worth keeping, and Ellis is a Groh guy anyways.

I'm not even a big Mangini supporter, but he left the NYJ in way fuckin' better shape than idiot Herm did. I'd take Groh, Mangini, and Carroll all ahead of Herm.

That Seattle game will live in infamy. That is when I jumped off the Mangini bandwagon. He made 3 years worth of mistakes in that one game, and that was after 3 years of EXPERIENCE. If it was his rookie year I could understand, but to get WORSE over time!?!?

Why did we get an extra time out in that game?

Mangini was very successful in bringing a lot of good players. Add to the list Keller, Clemens, Lowery, Ainge, Richardson, Favre ( it was very good until game eleven and then was playing hurt and was only brought in for one year or two).

How many probowlers there? Mangold, Brick, Washington, Jenkins, Revis. Harris, Pace and Keller may not be probowlers yet but given time they may be or will play like ones. Gholston is still a question mark but I think he just needs more time to develop and he could be very very good. The only ones that didn't work out, Schlegel ( third round) and maybe Clemens who could still turn out to be a good backup yet. Oh I forgot Stuckey. Now Mangini should get a big thank you. He left us and we got what could be a real good coach to replace him.
