Damn... I've spent years saying how overrated he was until last year when he actually played very well.

If he plays like he did last year, we're legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

If he reverts to his previous form, it won't look nearly as good.

That being said, I love the trade, and I think this was perfectly played by our FO. We were going nowhere with Pennington or with Clemens, and at least with Favre, we have a chance to do something big.

I'm just having trouble getting my head around the idea that I have to root for Brett Favre. I've never been a big Favre fan. Now the circus is in town, and Favre is my quarterback, and I have to defend him at all costs. That's going to take some taking used to, especially with the season a few weeks away.

I'm not used to the Jets being a side show.

Pretty much where I'm at, but he's a Jet now so we go forward and hope for the best, just like we did with Boomer, O'Donnell, Vinny, etc. Chad will land on his feet somewhere, good QBs are hard to come by.

Clemens and Penny didnt want the starting Job. They werent fighting for it like they wanted it so the F.O. went and got one of the greatest QB's to ever live. Yea he's gonna be 39 but last season he brought a mediocre Green Bay D from the last couple years to a 13-3 record and one game from the Super Bowl so he can definately still play with the best of them. Just will the "Madden" Cure get to him and our beloved Jets ??? Lmao i hope not... Good day to be a Jets fan. Will be better when he starts winning for us. Welcome to NY Jets Favre.

He is over rated, he should never be mentioned in the top 10 of all time and he is well past his prime. After the top 5or 6 QBs in the league, Favre is still one of the top QB's. You can chalk that up to a very mediocre crop of NFL QB's or bad development?

This is still a huge upgrade for a season or two and the Jets have gone all in this off season to win now.

It may or may not work out but Brett Favre is starting for the NY Jets on opening day and that's the best starting QB we have put out on the field on opening day since Namath.

I understand where you're coming from but I know that I'm going to be a little more juiced when I go for more morning run on opening day.
