/Rant I hate the monopolistic mindset of the NFL. Either put the fucking game on your web page for us to watch or don't have it at all. As much as I like Jamie Dukes, I'd rather just watch the game. I just hate that they are pushing their own channel so hard. Anyone else with me? /Rant off
Monday Night Football isn't broadcast over the air, so I fail to see the beef with the NFL Network. If you are a cable subscriber I think your displeasure should be with them. I asked them(Time-Warner) if they carried the NFL Network yet, they replied, "No", so I told them I wouldn't be subscribing to their service. With Dish I enjoy both the NFL Network and RedZone.
Then do the right thing and watch an illegal stream. I don't know how they expect anyone to tolerate the shit they try to pass off as a game broadcast on the official stream.
Yeah, finding a stream of any NFL game is fairly easy and finding one of a nationally televised game is even easier.
i like the NFLN. i dont have the sunday ticket though. i prefer meeting up with other jets fans at the bar. but how can you hate NFLN, its football 24/7. they could get a couple better people on there, thats definitely agreeable. id rather watch their worst programming as opposed to john clayton, mike and mike, etc etc it fell off a little since schefter left but their gameday programming is funny especially when you get faulk, sapp, sanders in the same room. Faulk knows wtf hes talking about along with Jamie Dukes, say what you want hes a clown sometimes but even if hes not right, he doesnt sound like the usual jerkoff who recycles the same story and slaps his name on it. its just plain better if your goal is to watch football and follow the league in general. the nets are a colossal joke this year and i only keep up with basic shit in baseball till playoff time. so most other sports programming is stale to me.
I love NFLN. Most of the analysts are objective, save guys like Rod Woodson, who is an egotistical retard, and everyone's favorite Favre nut-licker Steve Mariucci. My main problem with NFLN is that they employ Theismann, who is a total jackass as a commentator and is not much better as a playbook analyst. And he's a jerkoff, to boot. As far as the NFL pimping their network, empires like this are built with monopolistic methods. The NFL saw how much money ESPN was raking in from sponsors when they aired their football programs, especially the draft. The NFL decided that they deserved that money and made an entire network about their business. They also have a radio network. That's smart business.
It kind of helps to know that Eisen is a Jets fan. They have had a bunch of celebrity Jets fans picking games this season.
While I hate cable for not carrying the NFLN, you nailed it on the head, why should some one else make all the money on your product, when you can make it all. The good thing is that living in CT, because of contractual obligations, they have to show the Jets and Giants even if it's on the NFLN so I still get to see my team. :jets:
I love NFLN. Eisen is great because he makes the highlights fun without creating his own circus act or schtick to play up. It's all within the context of the highlights, and I totally enjoy Deion. Seems like he knows everyone in the league personally.
The NFL network is mostly enjoyable to watch, but everyone here should understand that what we are getting is nothing more than pro-NFL propaganda passed off as journalism. I like Walmart, but I don't think I'd expect the "Walmart Network" take a critical stance toward its stores. Walmart Network host: "Let's check in and see how our hardworking shelf stockers are doing this busy holiday season".... The NFL Network does the exact same thing, in effect.
I used to have the NFL Network when I lived on campus last year but now in my off campus place I have optimum IO and I don't think they carry the NFL network cus they're homos I liked NFLN, I miss it
