This thread is for people who have NOT bought seats, PSL or NON-PSL UD in new stadium. Trying to figure out what your strategy is. Buy stubhub, off fan sites, or hope for bigger better PSL or UD deals or hang out for deals like last year when they did half season ticket packages and "military" specials. Or maybe people are hoping there will be a UD seat realloction as they stopped selling tickets up there and they could end up between the 20's in the UD this June and even better not had have to front free money to the Jets for a year like the rest of us. If people are on fence who may want a a PSL but are waiting for the Next Price Reduction I have listed the best seats available as of this morning in the 4k, 5k, 6k, 7.5k and 15K sections. If I gave you who gave me this info I would have to shoot you. If these get reduced again with the free parking, no money down and no psl payment till 2011 they might get some people on sideline to buy. But I doubt if the main reason people won't buy is the PSL and ticket price, how would a one time $250 parking pass and delaying payment one year get them to buy? It is the price stupid! Here are best unsold PSL seats as of today: 111a by 111c row 22 in 15k section with a $140 ticket on Jets side one seat away from $700 tickets 142 towards 143 row 5, 15k on Visitors side 143 row 13 aisle by 144 7.5k section seats 20 and 21 (narrow row between two lower entrances) 143 row 30 seats 19 and 20 133 row 15 seats 15 and 16 6k section 144 row 25 seats 9 and 10 Mezz B best seasts - pair row 12 under cover 249b on aisle by 250b Mezz B other best seats - pair row row 3 other side Mezz A has a few good seats, but all in three combos Section 231A row 11, 3 seats (4kpsl) Section 133 row 12, seats 5-7 (6kpsl) Section 133 row 23 (6k) Section 134 row 26, (7.5k) seats in middle 26 Section 103 Row 6 (5k) Section 128 row 5 (5k) Tons of seats in 20K section and GHC on visitors side so did not mention seats plus still crazy expensive, mezz club corners basically sold out and all other seats up there have crazy ticket prices so did not mention. The section 103 and 128 very low row EZ seats in the middle three sections would be very interesting if Jets lowered that PSL and ticket. Getting to sit five rows from field in a 3k PSL with a $105 ticket and free parking is a lot better than last row UD sideline at goal line for $105 a ticket where you pay to park behind the race track. But then again I am guessing what is next as even Woody is flying blind and praying the Meadowlands gets the superbowl in 2014, Hard Knocks is some great free PR and that Mark Sanchez doesn't step in a crack in the sidewalk while out partying and breaks his ankle. These are all things Woody can't control that can damage his already weak sales. I am sure this thread is last thing Jets want, a sort of couponcabin for people wheeling and dealing for last minute Jet bargains.
I was a season ticket holder for many years, if the I had 2 pairs 5 rows apart. if the Jets would have just given me 4 together 3 years ago like I kept asking I'd still be a season ticket holder and would have bought a PSL but over the last 3 years I learned it's easy to get tickets and for less than I was paying when i was a ticket holder PLUS I didn't have to worry about buying preseason or having extras for games. I think I am locked in to keep doing what i have been doing the last 3 years BUT if a deal that comes to me is too good to pass up I would have to consider it.
That could get risky if the team explodes onto the scene, those tickets will go way up, I love being in the same seat and getting to know those around us. I understand where your coming from. I'm surprised the Jets didn't accommodate you, they put up to eight together early on. Where were you looking to sit, it's probably still not too late to get 4 together.
I have my ways to get them for less, last year w/ the win and in game against Cincy I got mezz seats btw the 20-30 yd line for less than face of UD seats(plus i got a parking pass w/ the tickets). I expect if we host a div rd or AFC Title Game tickets will be more expensive but I hope to have that problem:grin: It's a principle thing, I was on the wait list for a few years then they offered me a single seat until my # got called for regular seats so I bough a single seat for about 8 years, I then got 4 seats and each year i tried to get them to move them together and they refused to do anything when they could have. That led me to giving up my seats and I have bought them from various sources the past 3 years and have saved a ton of money doing so(as some games I get for free). I know I could get 4 together now but it would cost me alot more money to do so. I'm a guy who has been to virtually every game for over 20 years, I sat through the Coselt/Carroll/Kotite years in december freezing to watch bad football. They had a chance to do the right thing w/ me and they refused. I still go b/c i love football but I'll get them on the secondary market. I'm w/ you on being in the same place and getting to know those around you. I miss that but there's positives and negatives to every decision.
I will not pay for a PSL on a shared stadium. Owning a PSL only gives you rights for the games only. Not worth 5K... I've never been to a game that was sold out and couldn't get a ticket for less than face value. They're out there to be had. I know, I've sold those tickets from time to time. Besides, having Directv and access to restroom without a line is more valuable to me now.
Unless it was sold in the last 10 days, Section 124, Row 44, Seats 5 & 6 are available. $5K each seat.
I'll just cut and paste my question from another thread since its relevant here: --------------------- I'm hoping to make one Jets home game this year (I'm about 7 hours away) and I was wondering if finding cheap tickets will be any different this year with the new stadium, PSLs, etc. I figure it'll be a little too expensive to make it to a division game (maybe not?) specifically Dolphins or Pats. I was thinking that I might shoot for the Texans or Packers game. I was thinking I could get a lower level seat for these games as cheap as an upper level for the division games. Because I'm coming from out of town, I'd rather have a ticket in hand than to wait until I get there and potentially get stuck with a shitty seat. I'd rather pay a little more for this convenience. I did Stubhub last year. I was happy with it, but I probably overpaid a little. Will it still be easy to get a good seat the day of the game for a good price at the stadium?
not to be a doucher or anything because i'm sure some people will find all this info you have compiled very useful but couldn't anyone get this information if they talk to someone trying to sell them psl's long enough?
I'm considering going back to that route, that's how I did it from 1984 when they moved to NJ until the mid 90s when my friend had his regular seats, then we got ours in 2001. I'm in for this season upstairs but I'm going to see how it goes and how the downstairs plays out. Like you said, forget the pre-season, for me that's about $500 wasted right there when you add up tickets and parking.
The short answer is NO. The Jets are playing games. People who call up under fake names get offered some seats, people with senority get offered some other seats and people with senority who play hard to get can get supervisor position for seats on hold. The "live inventory" process is quite confusing. A 20 year season ticket holder I know who called recently got offered section 144 row 6 aisle by 143 even though a new caller same day was told no seats below row 20 anywhere and now seats from last row to first row on or near aisle by 143. Jets Reps gets ether kudos or extra commission to push the worst seat you will take. It takes a lot of persistance to get the "supervisor hold seats" The 103 row 6 and 128 row 5 seats are such seats. Jets even have a better LGL than I listed available but rep needed position to offer it to only a senority ticketholder who has not bought yet. And I did not have time to find the seat info. This whole process sucks, Jets should have offered best seats in order, but guess they did not want to get stuck with only crappy seats at end. They keep pushing bad seats and immediately cave in if you ask for good seats. I feel bad for anyone who trusts them and takes first "best" seat offered. This has been going on since day one.
Your not promoting the JN article this time?? Do expect a lawsuit from the Jets by publishing false info? A 30 year season ticket holder my Father knows just called and asked what was available in any section from 4k through 7.5k, most of the info is incorrect. More specifically the LL GL is mostly soldout.
i know a friend who has had 4 season tickets for the last 15 years, this year he got a call and they gave him 2nd row seats on the upper level...him and the same 3 guys have been going all this time together and they didnt want to pay for a psl so thats what they were offered, which i think are good seats(from the virtual tour). Anyway this year due to the economy one guy couldnt afford his tickets so i bought out half his season he gets 1 preseason and 4 home games and i get the same, it worked out well and was not that expensive if you can come across a situation like that i suggest you take it up!
I can't figure out why people pay premium prices to go to the only game that's better on TV than in person. I've been to a few Jets games over the years as a social event with friends but I'd have preferred to watch those from my couch with my grill in the backyard and the bathroom close at hand for commercial break sprints. Even socializing I much prefer to invite a half dozen friends over to watch the game. We spin the TV around, pull the speakers out on the patio and then we watch from the backyard around the grill. Believe it or not that's a better view of the game than you get from some of the seats I've been in over the years.
That is the point, they always change every time you can and with each different rep. TC and LGL are basically sold out that is why I only listed those few seats. So what was best offered when your father called, or is that a secret?
My Dad didn't call, he's coming with me. It was his friend, we've been trying to get him back on board for months. He really wanted LGL or LTC, and was offered row 3 in one and row 10 in LTC, don't know where in the row though. I agree, they have a different answer for everyone, the whole thing is BS.
Being there is fun, you're part of the atmosphere, part of the noise disrupting the opponent, etc. Also, I like being there and focusing only on the Jets game, not having other scores and fantasy stats in my face the whole time, or listening to the commentators. As the season goes along I like the mixture of having all the games on TV sometimes and being at the game sometimes.
Gave mine up. Its economics. I won't pay for a PSL. I'm gonna miss going but the view is better from the couch. There is no way I would have gotten such good seats even if I was willing to pay $200 per seat per game. Besides, the principals behind PSLs is bullshit. If I paid the PSL then all the tickets for every event to that stadium should be mine and I have the right to use the tickets or sell them. I paid for a PERSONAL SEAT License - to me that seat is mine. Then the tickets should come to me for World Cup, concerts, whatever.
http://www.seatandrow.com/NFL/NewMeadowlands/NewMeadowlands.htm cool, a map that is being built that shows the number of seats in each row and a seat diagram for sections for new meadowlands.
