He's the best OL coach in the league. He even was able to get a decent running game out of Miami with lousu OL talent. He also worked with Brian S. in San Diego. It would be a great hire.
Does RGC mean Right Guard Coach? I'm sorry, but is that a coaching position? (please, correct me if I'm wrong, I have no idea, sounds absurd though)
Running Game Coordinator...a cross between an O-line coach and a RB coach. Like an assistant OC to go with Schotty Jr.'s passing game prowess.
Running Game Coordinatoe and according to Cimini, Mangini is looking to put someone in charge of the running game. I like the idea
Ohhhh. Thats like deputy deputy executive officer of something, right? Anyway, can't say much about the Fins o-line last year, I didn't watch that much, but if they played decent I wouldn't mind that signing. Whoever held that position for the Jets this year sucked!
^we didn't have one this year....we had separate line and RB coaches with the OC calling the shots (no pun intended). The idea here is to have Schotty call the passing plays while RGC calls the running plays, presumably with the OC having the final say.
I have a feeling this whole "RGC" position is just a way for Mangini to get a top notch OL coach here, and say he's getting a "promotion".
You don't hear that term too much in the NFL, I think it happens a lot in the NCAA. Dallas Cowboys' Sparano is their RGC and Haley is their PGC. Not sure about too many other NFL teams. Edit: actually, Haley went to the Cards as their OC, but he held the PGC position for the Cowboys undeer Parcells I believe.
I read somewhere that he may retire because he wanted to coach one more year with the Dophins before he was fired. It was some article from Florida so I can't find a link to it as I forget what site I was on at the time.
