Not so good for a country with an almost perfect ESG rating of 98.1 o_O

Now I don't know jackshit about Sri Lanka... but I know that if you starve people and subject them to inflation...
    they ain't gonna like it...

If Soxxx was here he'd tell us "I told you so"... and he'd be right... at least this time...

    Michael Shellenberger - Wikipedia

"A 2020 Forbes article by Shellenberger, in which he promoted Apocalypse Never, was analyzed by seven academic reviewers and one editor from the Climate Feedback fact-checking project. The reviewers conclude that Shellenberger "mixes accurate and inaccurate claims in support of a misleading and overly simplistic argumentation about climate change."[5] Zeke Hausfather, Director of Climate and Energy for The Breakthrough Institute, wrote that Shellenberger "includes a mix of accurate, misleading, and patently false statements. While it is useful to push back against claims that climate change will lead to the end of the world or human extinction, to do so by inaccurately downplaying real climate risks is deeply problematic and counterproductive."[5] The Forbes article was later deleted for violating Forbes' policy against self-promotion. In response, Shellenberger called the deletion censorship and The Daily Wire, Quillette, and Breitbart News re-published all or parts of the article."

If someone is interested in Sri Lanka it seems that reading some news reports would be preferable to reading an opinion piece from a guy with questionable motivation and a poor record of separating fact from fiction.

I thought it was a fair opinion piece.

    Point out the fiction.

Of course you did - you don't know what real news is. I linked about Shellenberger and the Wiki shows how his viewpoints have been widely scorned. It would seem that you, of all people, would know how to treat links. Do you really not know that opinion is not news?

    Abe Lincoln was "widely scorned"...

No one is confusing that linked article for "news" except you.
Like I said... point out the fiction in that opinion piece.

And as far as "real news" goes... that's hardly an endorsement...
Are you really that naive or just really that dumb?

You have proven time and time again that you are dumb enough to copy links here almost daily that you believe support some kind of stance you want to take when all they do is prove that you are too naive to understand that they do not represent news at all but rather the opinions and lies of screwballs.

Even now you continue to call your linked item an "article" rather than what it is, an essay. The difference is apparently one of those things you don't understand because you quit school because then, like now, you thought you had all the answers. Wrong then, still wrong now.

So you can't point to any falsehoods in that article.
Just say that... save the harrumphs for someone that gives a shit.

You should change your name to RalebirdBait. You post something and he's on you like white on rice! Wait, is that racist? I can never tell what expressions have been cancelled.

I didn't need to point to anything. The writer has been repeatedly indicted by those who run the very foundation he cofounded and by many others according to the Wiki I linked. They know better than I do and better than you do that his writing is not to be relied upon.

Now, to the bigger question - what was your purpose in starting the thread and linking the article to begin with? You even admitted that you don't know "jackshit" about Sri Lanka. If you really wanted to start a discussion about something you know nothing about why use an opinion piece by such a goofball to do so? I mean the guy was one of dozens who did try to run for governor of California - that's a goofball. It's not like reforming agriculture in Sri Lanka is on the top of anyone's "must do" list here on TGG.

Ahhh... he's just trying to keep people honest.

Why he thinks the BS Forum is the place to do that is beyond me.

If you had no interest in the topic... then you certainly had no need to comment on it.

But I'm glad to give you the opportunity to shit all over it... and me.

Who said I had no interest in the topic? And you certainly don't get to decide what I have a need to comment on.

Instead of trying to figure out what I'm doing, and usually getting it wrong, you may want to ask yourself why you expose yourself so frequently.

Well... you've yet to add anything of value to the subject.
The only reason you chimed in... was to shit on me.

We're all hip to your sad little routine... ;)
