    Baker Mayfield
    Sam Darnold
    Josh Allen
    Joe Burrow
    Josh Herbert
    Trevor Lawrence
    Justin Fields

If all were coming out next year, how would you rank them based on what you saw so far from them?

If we're talking heading into the draft (and erasing everything NFL related)...

    Lawrence.
    Burrow.
    Fields.
    Darnold.
    Herbert.
    Allen.
    Jackson.
    Mayfield.

    Right now it's...

    Herbert.
    Allen.
    Jackson.
    Burrow (gruesome injury).
    Mayfield.
    Darnold.

Lawrence by a mile he’s going to be incredible.

Burrow had a great season that couldn’t be ignored when he came out.

I really liked Allen when he was coming out and wanted him bad as I posted on here all the time before the draft.

Darnold always showed flashes of greatness and flashed of poor ball security

I felt Herbert was a prototype of a nfl QB and could be good but questions under center was coming out

Was never a fan of Baker and felt he was a product of Lincoln Riley’s offence

Fields has fallen off a cliff for me.. He looks like a typical Ohio st QB that is a product of that system and when faced with good coverage and pressure he folded like a cheap tent. He still has a chance to prove he can do great things against great defences but until I see that I’m off his train.

I wonder if this would still be the case if they switched teams to start their career

I agree, but that's with the advantage of hindsight. We were talking about where they would have been drafted if all were in the same draft class. Darnold was considered better than Allen or Mayfield by most experts. Even Rosen was rated higher than Allen by most experts. I didn't like Rosen at all, as he wasn't mobile and had some attitude issues. Allen's lack of accuracy and low level of competition scared me off of him. I thought Mayfield was the best QB in that draft class, but I was wrong. It was Lamar Jackson, or at least he and Allen are having the most success initially.

I've seen this question answered by a few of the big name analysts out there, and I think each one of them has said they'd have Lawrence behind Burrow as a prospect at this point. Burrow's final year was that impressive from every single angle.

So what you're saying is that the analysts say he isn't a generational prospect then? Just the best guy this year.

Not necessarily - just maybe not the "best prospect the league has seen since Peyton/Luck" type standing, but also a reminder of how special Burrow's last year at LSU was. The common sentiment from these guys in their response is something to the effect of, "Burrow's tape and production were complete to an extent I've never seen before", so it doesn't really come across as an indictment of Lawrence - more like a reminder of how nearly perfect the Joe Burrow Prospect Experience was in 2019.

IMO that just shows how dumb and wrong the "experts" can be. Burrow had a great year, no doubt about it, but it was only one year, and look at the talent he had a round him. Between this year's draft and the 2021 draft, how many of those players were or will be drafted high? Clemson has had a lot of talent, but I don't think they've had a team with the quantity and quality of talent as last year's LSU team had, and they haven't had nearly the number of players drafted high as LSU or Alabama has. Lawrence has been great for 3 years and beat Alabama his freshman season. There's no way I'd take Burrow over Lawrence unless Burrow blew Lawrence away on a whiteboard and video test.

Trevor Lawrence (I think he's that good)
Josh Allen (Gets better every year)
Justin Herbert (Looks really good but small sample)
Joe Burrow (Would've been above Herbert if not for the injury)
Baker Mayfield (Good as long as he keeps his head on straight)
Justin Fields (I think he'll be good but I'm not sure)
Sam Darnold (Maybe he'll succeed elsewhere, but here, he's a bust)
